Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
^ appalling, well said. As vendors living in Pak, they have the opportunity to shop around, barter and buy in bulk which makes it far more cheaper than we would get it for if we were in Pak, and then they justify it by saying how expensive it all is, i cannot believe how in UK we would think twice about paying even 100 quid for a suit, yet that charge seems to be a starting range, and your right for what!! what overheads do you have??

I know...nobody is asking me......but sumbody was tawking about this GS Forum as the sellers r doing fraud scenes over here.....i m justifying myself becus i m also a seller in this GS....and as u were tawking about the entire sellers who used to charging higher higher prices...........so this is y i said about myself as a newcomer.....
I hope now u ppl get my point..............as I m new so others would be thinking same about me aswell.............this is the thing only......
and if u r tawking for the specific vendors then just as u said Name and Shame them.....
@fias...brummie did not mean you, hun!!.Stay calm...she just said that we should name and shame the vendors who are charging extortionate rates. We know you are new here, but there is no offence towards you.
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
Welll.......as one person would be tawk about the entire sellers over here on GS so i think as a new vendor i m also doing the same work over here..................i think i must be named in those entire vendors.....
So i would like to say that i M not one of them...........this is it...
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
yes ofcourse i did read the thread...........yes i know u didn't contact me any for the dresses...........................i would just say instead of backbitting or the legpulling just name and shame them...as i m also a new vendor over here so i would be ONE OF THEM.................as i m also doing the same business..........
i think now U MAY GET MY POINT?????
if u read the thread Fias, you'll realise i wasnt referring to u as I havent contacted you about any outfits.
the point of this thread is that alot of us feel that some sellers are getting away with charging ridiculous prices and i've just added my ideas on how we can become better buyers. i hope this clarifies things for u.
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
Excuse me ........ i know what u r calling for a So-Called Designer???
as i think i have told u about at FIRSt if u did read my mail that I m exactly NOT a wholeseller........but in this regard i send u my designs.................. as u have exposed my mail over here.............
i think u won't be knowing about the prices of Pakistan.....
if i was tawking for the embroidered stitched suit with a quality fabric its would be costs 3500Rs............OK.......and i think its a rough estimate in pounds is 35pounds.................
lolxxx............. and u r asking for the 350pounds?????
Can anybody tell her about the currency rate of pound in Rupees????
i think none is gonna mad for paying 350pounds for a single outfit.......
I m Sorry its really disappointing thing for me......u really disheart me.......
At first u have to ask me in my private email.......
but as a new vendor over here......thats really annoying me.....
K anyhow .......... .........................

Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
Ayesha Sattar and her group is Design Affairs!!
Major Ripp Off...
I put a note on a dress she had put and a link to the dress on Robe De Style's page...
Designer Affair was selling it for 275& while Robe De Style for 175$
wow!! the difference is tremendous!!
Plus she deleted me off her list so that I do not obviously inform her customers where they can find better rates!!
I am putting this up so that everyone is carefull before purchasing!!! I dunno why but I feel these designers in Pakistan feel that people abroad have money GROWing from trees :(
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
To be honest fias I haven't got a clue what u are talking about. I really dont want to get into along winded discussion about what my posting is about. If u feel my post is singling u out specifically then u have misread my post.
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
wow kayra thanks for your input and starting this thread! i dont have much to add except that i totally agree with you!
its not being kunjoos chukoos mucooos at all (lol love this word ) but rather thinking twice or thrice whether it is worth spending money on keeping in mind with the responsibilities of many other bills ! We all earn our money in the right hard way! but still people think we have growing trees here
my younger sister just got back from pakistan and brought a suit which was exactly like the one i saw on 2 different fb groups for only 1800 pkrswithout haggling the price down!!..not knowing she had bought the suit already i was tempted to buy the same dress for 3860 from a fb-group but luckily i didnt ...okay 3860 is still not a hefty sum for unstitched but add the 2000 darzi price than it gets more expensive ...and seriously quality wise from close it was just cotton! it shows the difference in price ! like sara mentioned it really depresses me too lol
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?

Oh fias dont worry about any thing actully i know who much struugle u people go through u have the right to earn profit u want as its according to islamic point of view that u can sell it to ur requirement if any one dont want plz pass so i dont know how much KAYRA is selling her suits for because according to her judgement she must be selling her suits very reasonable i mean very reasonable so lets see if she replies.
I will be happy to see her suits and asked about the price range also.
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
yar again n again u r asking me and not getting my point........
i know u didn't point any specific name...........though i didn't misread ur post.......
i M just saying that as a new vendor i am trying to get the customers here......................
but if u would be tawking for the whole vendors working on this GS......so i think that would give a very bad shadow for any vendor over here.......My point is just not to do the back bitting and leg pulling JUST PLZ BE SPECIFIC AND TAKE THE NAME...........................
Otherwise it would be giving a very very bad impression for awl the vendors who use to start new work over here.....this is it.......plzz yarrrr now don't take me wrong.....JUST GET MY POINT......
And ya one more thing please just u tellme the rate of Pound in RUpees???
how much one pound is in Rupees??????????????
To be honest fias I haven't got a clue what u are talking about. I really dont want to get into along winded discussion about what my posting is about. If u feel my post is singling u out specifically then u have misread my post.
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
While we all agree with the sentiments of this thread; when Kayra UK reposted the email sent to her I thought the same thing as fias87- where in the email does it suggest anything costs 350 pounds.
Its a benefit for all of us to mention those that are charging to much (too often people write one FB vendor or Guppy was charging way more than another- that type of generalized comment is not very helpful, just tell us who it is). In that same vein you should not malign vendors if they are not ripoffs. Kayra you should at the very least apologize to fias87 because your post is going to effect her business and you got the currency conversion wrong.
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
Thank God sumbdy realises........................
anyhow i'll also wait for the prices what she told u............
OK plz lemme know mustttt.....

Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
@Fias: chill buddy, it happens in business, no need to take it personally, i believe she didn;t mean to target you alone, and regarding the customers, they will still come if your stuff and price is good. I sell cloths too and i don;t care what people say, as long as you know you are not earning haram (too much margin) then you shouldn;t care what people say.
@kayra: I honestly suggest you go to the wholesale markets like shalmi or anarkali and talk to those vendor, any vendor here will be a third or maybe forth person adding up their margin, service and actually there are a few small things which have to be added up. and all that together adds up a lot. Plus, those people can sell cheaper cause they buy materials in bulk, at a complete different price than people here buying in a few pieces or one piece.
After taking all the headache, you may understand, y such prices??
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
Thanku Holy Moly.
Fias i was not singling you out, i was just sharing with people how i go about choosing who to buy from :)
As holy moly said, Your work and quality of your designs will speak for themselves and hopefully people will have a good experience with you BUt we all (buyers as well as sellers) have to recognise that there are some sellers who are charging very very high prices for normal everyday suits.
For example Cookie Mac on FB is charging £110 for a Chinyere top, I have this very same top and i paid less than a third of that price. He also had a threads and motifs suit that he is selling for £145, again i have that very same suit and i paid 8000 rupees for it. This is the type of profit margin that is ridiculous.
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
Wow lol what's happened here....@ Fias did i mention your name? Answer me? U no you need chillax i have started a thread about something that winds me up if you take it personally lol that ain't my fault that's for you to figure out why. So chill. If you want to take every post anyone makes personally then that's your decision. The last post had two other emails i copied onto it which showed the last email from a different vendor who was quoting me such prices..... so again if you think i was referring to you chillout read the post most of us can convert rs to pounds.... If you don't like this thread don't reply..... Nothing is being said about you personally so chill.....
But if you are going into business you should know you will have people who don't like your designs, or prices, or items thats business so stop taking every single post personally you are getting away from the reason why I started this thread......
Thanks Brummibird and Holy Moly for again clarifying to others the point of this thread. Anyway no more time wasted on this line of discussion, who was it that was saying that as soon as you say anything against vendors they go gah gah lol i see the point.....
We as a consumer group should start something up lol shall we all get together and start our own big UK wide business hey Alan Sugar eat your heart out...... lols
Lol this last series of threads has worn me out..... on a lighter note has anyone had anything nice ordered for Eid? Stick some pics up so we can all have a nice ooh and ahhh over them....
