Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?

Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
i was in pak couple of yrs ago and bought couple of chinyere outfits. they cost me about 9,000 rps. i found the price reasonable and these were the chifon outfits with nice embroidery on them. now they r all over fb. and these copy designers r selling the same suit for $200. the irony is orignel cost less than the copy. thats how greedy the so called home based designers r.
i think pakistan people selling clothes need to learn a thing or two about business. and customer care before they decide to open up a business.

Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
im sorry but i’m having a bit of trouble following here…you didn’t specify anywhere in the email that you copy pasted where the vendor was asking for 200-350 pounds for a suit, unless there was more that you didn’t post?
Also, you mentioned in your other thread, looking for vendors,
http://www.paklinks.com/gs/bazaar-talk/461690-looking-for-a-supplier-wholesaler-in-pakistan-to-send-clothes-to-england.html#post7841613
that fias was asking 200 pounds for an outfit, correct?
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
answer to the question the blog asks: cuz we got the dolla and the pounds.. that's why!
my dad landed at one of the pakistan airport's and this random guy who didn't even help him with anything started asking for money.. he already had some pakistani rupees with him so he gave it to him and he goes "how about 20 or 50 dollars? i know you've got them sir!!" and he wouldn't leave!!.. it was kind of scary they way he said it. but still, seriously ?
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
lolxx… now answer Kayra what she is asking…that was the entire mail ov mine…as u r saying that u didn’t singled my name then y do u only exposed my mail??
i think others r getting me but u(KAYRA) R NOT…
So SMART…
now answer that u didn’t take name but u exposed only my only email in which i never mentioned about the 200 and 350 pounds which u were calling for the SO-CALLED Designers…
so just answer here that u don’t know how to convert the currencies?? and asking for the wholesaler and doing business STUFF…
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
Hey peeps me again lol im on one, just had an email from a so-called wholesaler that has commented above I asked for wholesale rates so please read this email and tell me if you think its a loads of BS or am I just being a narky moo
"welll for the prices as u know its all according to the fabric quality and the quality of work.......so normally my ranges start from 2000Rs(only the fabrics designed in stitching) -----upto 3500Rs(embroidery on neckline and sleeves).......the heavy embellishment (adda work) starts from 8000Rs-----upto u know according to the designs......"
As for the so called wholesaler who emailed me this lol well do you want to respond considering the debate....
LMFAOOO £350 for a suit with stitching on neckline and sleeves lol I need to move to Pakistan I am in the wrong country.....
I believe she quoted **PKR 3500 **which isn't more than GBP 25 - 30 :)
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
Alhamdolillah what i am earning is quite making it Halal......i am not take it personally....as u didn't read the posts above...Y r u asking me.??
only Kayra has exposed my email and calling for the so-called designers.....what does that mean?? as if she is just COpying and pasting ONLY MY email (NONE others)........and also saying for the so called designers.....as she didn't know the rates by herself...what she is calling 2000Rs(PKR) for the 200pounds.......lolzzzz......
and again u r asking me not take it personally....she is showing my email On screen......and phir b u r saying NO SHE IS RIGHT.......
@Fias: chill buddy, it happens in business, no need to take it personally, i believe she didn;t mean to target you alone, and regarding the customers, they will still come if your stuff and price is good. I sell cloths too and i don;t care what people say, as long as you know you are not earning haram (too much margin) then you shouldn;t care what people say.
@kayra: I honestly suggest you go to the wholesale markets like shalmi or anarkali and talk to those vendor, any vendor here will be a third or maybe forth person adding up their margin, service and actually there are a few small things which have to be added up. and all that together adds up a lot. Plus, those people can sell cheaper cause they buy materials in bulk, at a complete different price than people here buying in a few pieces or one piece.
After taking all the headache, you may understand, y such prices??
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
hahahahahahaha.......YES THIS IS Ittt........
lolxx
I believe she quoted **PKR 3500 **which isn't more than GBP 25 - 30 :)
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
Oh please when i m saying holy moly and brummiebird.....
plz yar do read my last posts as u don't know what kayra did...
she exposed my email here and asking for the wholesale business with me...when i used to tell her the prices starting from 2000Rs(PKR)- 3500Rs(PKR)....
so she molded such prices in 200pounds- 350 pounds......lolxx....
i think 2000Rs costs for 200pounds in her Calculator......
lolxx...... and she exposed ONly my email and calling for the so-called designer......now tell me what does that mean?? as she is exposing one's mail and pointing for the so-called designer.....as indirectly she was tring to responce for my Email....lol.....
according to her calculator.......lol.....
u may chek the other posts...
Thanku Holy Moly. Fias i was not singling you out, i was just sharing with people how i go about choosing who to buy from :) As holy moly said, Your work and quality of your designs will speak for themselves and hopefully people will have a good experience with you BUt we all (buyers as well as sellers) have to recognise that there are some sellers who are charging very very high prices for normal everyday suits. For example Cookie Mac on FB is charging £110 for a Chinyere top, I have this very same top and i paid less than a third of that price. He also had a threads and motifs suit that he is selling for £145, again i have that very same suit and i paid 8000 rupees for it. This is the type of profit margin that is ridiculous.
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
Fias it may have been an error on her part or misreading the email, it happens, so there's no need for you to keep harping on about it as if she cannot convert Rs into pounds. Chill.
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
may be it would be an error....but she should cheked the last post before submitting.....
as what she wrote that was simply deirecting towards me becus awl it was the copied email of my id......
She just copied my mail and asking for the so-called designers....tellme if she was satisfied from my rates what i privately told her ,,,,,then y she copy paste my email ONLY aswell in those "CENSORED" mail.s.lol..
and asking for the 200pounds.....as i told her the rates between 20-40pounds ONLY..........
she won't be get satidfied...Ok just leave it.......
may would be asking for the wholesale rate in between 4-5pounds...lol
Fias it may have been an error on her part or misreading the email, it happens, so there's no need for you to keep harping on about it as if she cannot convert Rs into pounds. Chill.
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
I agree.
And fias i didn;t say Kayra was right or you were wrong or vice versa, i just said chill, whats the point of all the fight?
as long as people with right calculation can see your 2000-3500PKR, you're right.
sooner or later she'll know she's looking for wrong price at the wrong place, that's it. she just posted a post which might not have
gone before many of your clients' eyes but i guess you yourself highlighted to too much.
Chill girl, it happens in business.
Fias it may have been an error on her part or misreading the email, it happens, so there's no need for you to keep harping on about it as if she cannot convert Rs into pounds. Chill.

That's what appears to have happened.
I understand your anger fias87,but harping on it constantly isn't winning you any fans. On the flip side Kayra did respond and instead of knowledging that it was an error on her part, she tried to deflect it on fias87.
Re: Why do retailers in Pakistan try to rip westerners off?
@ Fias I emailed you privately to clarify the situation, blood is what you require its too cold in the UK for me to oblige but will do in the summer. JOKE. Did explain there was a few emails i received and thought id copied em all into the email I will not dare copy that email into here as I will be lynched. Peace Sister if you feel i have offended you.
