Re: Why Do Pakistanis Reject their Indian heritage?
In the words of Winston Churchill, “India is no more a country than the Equator”. It is no wonder there are many separatist movements in India, having many distinct nations, races, languages, cultures, religions, histories, etc. A Tamil is racially as different from a Kashmiri as is an Ethiopian from an Italian. A Naga is culturally as different from an Bihari as is a Chinese from a Argentinian. A Gujarati is linguistically as different from an Andhra (Telugu) as is a German from an Arab. Such extreme differences are common place among the so called Indians with barely any unifying factors. On the other hand, Pakistanis have all the commonality being linguistically Indo-Iranian, racially mostly Caucasoid, geographically based around Indus Valley, sharing a common history/culture, and adhering to the faith of Islam.
**True. If a gujrati isn’t even the same as a bengali why say India which comprises of thousands of ethnicities is the same as Pakistan? **
The above table reveals that during the 5000 years of Pakistan’s known history, this country was part of India for a total period of 711 yrs of which 512 yrs were covered by the MUSLIM period and about 100 years each by the Mauryan (mostly BUDDHIST) and British (CHRISTIAN) periods. Can anybody agree with the Indian ‘claim’ that Pakistan was part of India and that partition was unnatural? It hardly needs much intelligence to understand that Pakistan always had her back towards India and face towards the countries on her west. This is true both commercially and culturally.
**Thank you. Pakistan is one of the most racially mixed regions on the planet because of the countless invaders/migrants. In a single family you will see a kid with curly hair, dark skin and brown eyes and a kid with light skin green eyes and straight hair. In other countries such incidents occur because of adultery but not here. **
Re: Why Do Pakistanis Reject their Indian heritage?
And even that doesn't mean ****. Lets combine England and the US into one country or as Parissenoir's empty brain works: Lets join Sweden and Switzerland up since they appear to have light skin, light hair and light eyes.
Re: Why Do Pakistanis Reject their Indian heritage?
Amitabh bachchan and Raj Babbar (both from UP) are dravidians so are Ashutosh Rana (from MP), Bal Thackrey(from Maharashtra) and best of all- Aishwarya Rai is Dravidian (From Karnataka), Madhuri is Dravidian (from Maharashthra) :D :D :D
Re: Why Do Pakistanis Reject their Indian heritage?
fiirst how much different are UPites, MPites, Maharashtri and bihari from punjabi and sindhi genetivcally??
secondly are you of those racist people who believe genes determines ones culture:confused:
well i don’t share your point of view…linguistics, traditions, history are more important than genetics…
Re: Why Do Pakistanis Reject their Indian heritage?
Maharashtrians are of mixed aryan-dravidian stock. Most of them are dravidians while the high castes are more aryan in typical indian caste tradition. Note that this never happens in the northwest of India where the caste system failed to gain any ground since everyone there was of a similar racial background and there were no original inhabitants to impose anything on.
Re: Why Do Pakistanis Reject their Indian heritage?
you are the one empty brained...US and england don't share a common border ....neither than switzerland and sweden;)
but pak and indian do;)
switzerland and sweden don't share language...though german and swedish are close (i can understand both for that reason)...they are not as close as hindi and urdu....basically i'm a (very poor) hindi speaker...but people believe it is urdu....as long as i don't use a trully hindi word:Dand as long as i say salaam an mashallah cause i'm muslim
bu pak and north india do.....
Re: Why Do Pakistanis Reject their Indian heritage?
I’m only talking about the racial background of indians here. I’m not racist as i don’t believe my “Race” is superior to anyone’s but i dont think people should lump the huge diversity of the subcontinent into one and say 'they’re all brown must be the same race" when in fact we are one of the most racially diverse people in the world.
I’m more interested in the racial background of Indians Pakistanis persians Afghans. I’ve never really had an interest in culture, traditions etc.
Re: Why Do Pakistanis Reject their Indian heritage?
Again language and race are two different things.
well ive noticed also in pak than beggers are very dravidian looking while middle class and upper classs people are lighter skinned usually...
Re: Why Do Pakistanis Reject their Indian heritage?
well i’m not that illiterate. Heritage IS genes imo but you’re right culture and traditions play a big part. I just don’t think i need to spell out the differences in for ex. punjabi culture and karnataka culture when it’s so obvious.
Re: Why Do Pakistanis Reject their Indian heritage?
That's a common mistake people make. Just because a person spends all day in the sun and turns black skinned DOESN'T make them dravidian.
There are dravidian beggars in the big cities of Pakistan because of the Christian who are converts of low caste hindus as well as low caste hindus themselves.
Middle and Uppar class people are lighter skinned because they seldom go outdoors in the women's case. If you moved the entire population of Pakistan to Canada they'd get even more lighter skinned.
Re: Why Do Pakistanis Reject their Indian heritage?
did i say karnataka is part of the hindi belt? NO
did i say karanataka is part of north india?
NO
did i say south india and north india/pakistan are close in traditions and history?? NO
Re: Why Do Pakistanis Reject their Indian heritage?
I didn’t say you were illiterate
Wider nose hun. Prominent noses are an ‘aryan’ trait.
You are impossible. Everyone knows that you get darker in the scorching heat of Pakistan. My aunt from toronto went back and some other aunt was jealous because she used to be fairer skinned but since living in Toronto the other aunt got fairer. I was born light, got tanned as hell when i was around 10 and now i’m considered fair skinned since i’ve been living in Canada for 7 years. All of my family got lighter skinned except for my dad who was too old.
This doesn’t work on people who are already mature. i just can’t believe that you just said that. Hello! The sun makes you darker
Re: Why Do Pakistanis Reject their Indian heritage?
To summarize this thread once and for all:
1) The jatts and Rajputs in Pakistan share a similar heritage with the jatts and Rajputs in India. Roughly 50% of Pakistan shares a similar heritage with roughly 10% of India.
2) the Sindhis in Pakistan share a similar heritage with 750,000 Sindhis in India.
3) The Pashtuns of Pakistan share a similar heritage with the Pashtuns of Afghanistan.
4) The kashmiris of Pakistan share a similar heritage with the kashmiris in Kashmir.
5) The Balochs of Pakistan share a similar heritage with the balochs in Iran and also Afghanistan.
6) The Kalasha of Pakistan(roughly 4000) share a similar racial heritage with the Nuristanis of Afghanistan(around 700,000). Culturally however, Nuristanis are devout muslims while the Kalasha retain their culture.
7) The Brahuis of Pakistan(roughly 1million) share a racial heritage with the Dravidians of India. Culturally however i don't think they are similar.
8) The sheedis of Pakistan share a racial heritage with people from East Africa. Their culture however is distinct now.
9) The muhajirs(urdu speakers) are too diverse a group to be labeled under one name.
