Describe "issue with parents". I thought the OP was on about the sort of disagreements that cause a rift in your relationship with your parents.
I can confidently say Alhumdulillah, Allah buri nazar se bachaye, I have NEVER even come close to that sort of a disagreement with my parents Alhumdulillah.
I'm not saying that to be superior or anything, just saying quit assuming everyone has issues with their parents and are just lying to cover it up. Generalizations either way aren't wise.

^For me issues can be anything from a rifts you described to something as minor as you sulking because your parents didnt allow something at a younger age. If you've not had such a moment in your life, good for you, but I think 99.9 % people have at either point. So in that basis I still stand by what I said and I dont think it was a generalization, however what the OP wrote whatever he/she meant by "issues", was a big generalization just to look down upon ABCDs again.

Yea, there is a big difference between disagreements (which all of us have) and harbouring negative thoughts or having a negative relationship with ones parents.

But issues don't have to be actual disagreements, do they? Plenty of 'back home' girls and guys don't have ideal relationships with their parents in that they're being pressured into marrying cousins, not given the freedom they want, are put down by their fathers or mothers on a regular basis etc. The kids might feel upset but culturally they taught that's just the way things are and to not make a big deal of it.. I mean just look at all the bf/gf stuff that is done behind parents' backs in Pakistan.. Those are hardly better relationships than what most of us ABCDs have, are they?
Just because issues aren't vocalised or talked about doesn't mean they don't exist..

Culturally kids in the Pakistan/India are taught parents are never wrong tho, aren't they (for the most part anyway).. It's a totally different outlook and way of looking at things.. Even when kids are beaten or constantly criticised that idea of questioning parents usually isn't there..

If you actually feel that being able to talk to your parents about your BF is an indicator of a healthy relationship then I feel sorry for you and in that case I am proud that we Pakistanis dont have an ideal relationship with our parents as per YOUR standards.

It is also called 'Beghairti' on part of multiple parties. In case you still don't get it, having a relationship with the opposite sex is unislamic and if both you and your parents are comfortable talking about it (and all the honesty crap) then its nothing to be proud about.

Having a gf/bf and talking about it openly is a taboo in pak but it does not indicate people having bad relationship with their parents....most people wouldn't talk about a gf in front of their folks out of haya....and not because they dislike their parents.

The thing is the ability to be honest with parents shows a good relationship because we have enough faith in them to help up learn from out mistakes, advise us through our difficult times and help us out when we need it.
In pakistan SOMETIMES you be honest - You get a beating ( not always literally)
e.g. I go out - i sometimes stay out late i tell my parents when i am going, where and with who and when ill be back. My dad may say - are you sure this is safe? or if i am late my mum will call just to see if im ok. Although I have a difficult relationship with my mum at times do some of her own issues - the one thing i can do is talk to her about anything and everything.
I have seen girls with my own eyes ' going to the library' ' going to study' when secretely they are in KFC with some random guy.
