Who's the Bride???

Re: Who's the Bride???

can't the cake just be brought out right before you are going to cut it?

Re: Who's the Bride???

no cos the caterers dont want to take responsibility if they drop it on its way out. its three tiers, so i guess its more tough to move. and its grass, so they cant use a wheeled table either. maybe we'll pose for pics before the ceremony.... its kind of fake and stupid like that but sigh, i guess i'll do it if it means i'll stress less.

Re: Who's the Bride???

by length i meant a taller stand but you can see if you can get a wider stand but if the kids are big then nothing would work. Hopefully they won't be poking their fingers in it, it is mostly the little kids :)

Re: Who's the Bride???

SGC: i am totally into the detail of my wedding, not as organised as you with the whole website thing, but i have 7 months to go!!! i love everything by the way, if i was having a summer wedding i would so have gone for your theme!!! My wedding day is going to be traditional red, gold and ivory, but with a modern touch!!

my cake is super extravagant, but it's going to act as a decoration piece too!!!

To keep it all protected i am roping areas off too, the cake area is going to be guarded at all times!!!! by a 6 foot muscle man( who is also a friend of the family!!!) this shows how serious( mental) i am!!!!

I hope people understand the concept of place cards and table plans, although i am thinking this maybe too much for some of the old skool aunties and uncles, who sit wherever the hell they like...even on the head table!!!!!

i will be sooooo glad when its all over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Who's the Bride???

LOL! LJ, you are so manic, its hilarious! when are you getting hitched? and whats this modern touch you speak of? what flowers are you using?

as for the place settings, we're only assigning tables but not seats at the tables. i think thats a bit much. when you're at your table, you can sit where you want. our tables are rectangle-ish- they seat 10, so couples and singletons can work out who they want to sit next to. i'm thinking of naming the tables by type of orchid and then maybe placing a single orchid of that type in each napkin on that table... but i have to run the numbers by my florist and see if its possible. i heart details! they make everything come together so nicely!

i wanna see a pic of your cake! whats it look like?

as for headtable- we were going to do a sweetheart table, but then we figured we might be too separated from the party and we didnt want to separate the parents from their friends/family... so we decided on sitting with our maid of honor (my best friend and her hub), and our best man (andrew's bro and his wife and their 3 year old who is also a flower girl) and thats it. the head table is going to be pretty obviously decorated so i'd be very surprised if anyone who isn't a kid plonked themselves down on it... dammit, speaking of which, i need to arrange more centrepieces for the headtable!

Re: Who's the Bride???

Are you crazy?! after my moaning about the in laws do you think i am going to post any pics that will trace back to me?!!!??!!?!?!? then they'll know i moaned about the red lengha hoggers and the nightmare kids and anything else i've said... i have to live with these people!!!!!

i'll probably post a few under a new name!!!!!! then you'll all get to see them, but as SGC has asked i will personally email you a mini compilation of everything, including the details as at least you will appreciate them!!!!!!!! i'll even take pics of the cakeguards and the kid controllers!!!

Re: Who's the Bride???

as far as the table plan goes, i am doing the same thing as you, as in assigning tables, not the actual seats, but it didn't really work at my sisters wedding so i'm not sure if we should bother again... i swear some people are awkward on purpose!!!!!

Re: Who's the Bride???

haha! i hear that!

LJ, do u ever wonder what on earth you're going to do with your time after the wedding? i'm going to focus on the house and designing that properly :) theres definitely going to be non-wedding-planning-shock though afterwards.

Re: Who's the Bride???

are you serious?! i'm re doing the bedroom and bathroom before i move in and the rest of the house after i move in!!! cool and modern and neutral look. i've been doing my research for that along side my wedding stuff!!!! The bathroom i want to have the spa style look!!!! don't worry i have my next project ready, this energy will be released on the house!!! then come babies(IA)....!!!!!

Re: Who's the Bride???

after the wedding, i'm also doing a part-time pastry chef course from a local college, and then comes furniture shopping! yay!

we need to share emails so we can blather on in another venue and stop boring these girls :P

Re: Who's the Bride???

SGC: i know, we kinda take over these threads!!!

oh and strawberriesncream i am moving in with the in laws!!! but they are not in the country for well over half the year... it'll only be me my hub and the parents.. but i'm confident they'll come to my way of thinking in regards to decor- paindoo is so out, i think they are quite happy to have a baho's special touch...!!!

Re: Who’s the Bride???

lol
paindoo is SO out. why do people insist on having those giant sofa sets in formal drawing rooms anyway? my folks had one and it hardly ever got used. in the end, everyone always wanted to hang out in the kitchen or the living room attached to the kitchen…

to get back on track, this is one of the cutest couples i’ve seen pics of! he’s german/italian, shes pakistani… i dont know them, and this may sound stalkerish… but i want to know them! haha they look like they’re a fun couple! they had three different ceremonies.

Re: Who's the Bride???

Who started these threads in the first place!!!!!!!!!!?????????????????any idea??????

Re: Who’s the Bride???

i love Lublyjubly…i agree with pretty much everything uve said! (and by the way on my wedding i banned under 10 yrs old some ppl were pissed but they didnt end up showing and i could care less!..ur a little diff i think cuz u said u have close family w. kids and i didnt…but i HATE when they mess up pics and thier parents are just laughing in teh background…id still ban kids if i were u and then do a separate room w. babysitting for ur family only…why should u pay for other ppl kids??)

as far as guests at weddings…cant stand those girls who want the spotlight to be on them all the time…and u know what thats exactly what they want…if they didnt that would be another story but u know they are trying to outdo you. as far as duputta on your head and ur NOT the bride…yes u deserve a slap…that also goes for those wearing tikkas and jhoomers. u had or will have ur chance…this is not the right day!!

as far as wearing ur old wedding dress i think the only time its ok is when its not that heavy and its not red or if the brides not wearing red then it cant be that same color. its just disrespectful.

at my wedding my 2 good freinds “supposedly” both wore red lenghas (but they were hideous and everyone was laughing at them saying why are they trying to compete with you!?!) on my day and this little 15 yr old girl wore a tikka!

the reason this whole thing pisses me off is that they are trying to compete on purpose cuz they are all jealous ppl who do this because they all know this is wrong and they dont care…but oh well what can u do…other guests will know rt away how patethic they are.
