Agreed. Currently, the Muslim world is incapable of producing a Gandhi or a Martin Luther King. Its ideology is too stunted. However, the subcontinent had a lot of "Sufi saints" who were perhaps the last to be respected by one and all for their teachings and ideals.

Muslims in amerika don’t have much room to manouver at all, the government is so anti islam regarding its politics that the muslims will jump on any bandwagon that favours them even in slight terms.

Human emotion and needs always trump ideals. The questions themselves are moot. God’s words are always interpreted. But then, things work both ways too. If a democracy suddenly decided it WAS okay to kill, it all of a sudden is. Such is the case during war time. I saw no serious attempt at compromise or deliberation on this matter.
Muslims as of late have been killing out of perceived necesity, and what’s more it’s been on the fringe. The western nations have been murdering also, in the name of higher causes.
All parties will eventually compromise, again once it is to expensive to follow ideals.
The violent fringe in Muslim territories simply want to be left alone, not this nonsense of converting the world to Islam. If the West had announced that it would simply leave Muslim lands, far from the expansionist nazi-like movmeent would emerge. Rather, the reason d’etre for OBL and his ilk would evaporate…there would be internal turmoil no doubt, but it’s not as if the West had been a stabalizing factor over the past 50 years.

Sure. But this is just more work, as we Muslims will not only need to form a functioning state, but a Church as well! 
No churches in Islam, let’s keep it that way.
There is only the state, and seeing as how Islam is an important social force, the state will naturally have to reconcile with it.

Muslims have more freedom to practice their religion in America than in any Muslim country you fool. Your hatred, racism and bias comes through in every post and displays how you don’t know what you are talking about. They can’t get designated as a ‘non-Muslim’ by the government and their mosques don’t get bombed like where you are from. They have as much room to maneouver as they choose. If you can get off the terrorist watch list, you really ought to visit America and see for yourself the tremondous freedoms Muslims enjoy.

A religion should rise above the lowest common denominator. Of course humans aren’t perfect and that’s why religion should encourage spiritual behavior and not give religious justifications for less than spritual behavior.
