karachi be divided according to 5 districts administered by Dy Commissioners as it was done in the past. Distribute the budget in five districts so that every one has equal right. I hate and abhor the sickening statement of # 2 World Class Mayor "yeh tumharay log hain ke hamaray". We don't want such kind of ethinic biased people should ever rule Karachi.

Lets not dig and present irrelevant article, this article is 5 years old and represented when all work was not finished. Lets check if due to current rains any underpass was flooded etc.

They should have known at that time they were making defective structures. But who cares as long money was comming in his pockets. The defective structures do not see the years. When ever circumtances appear even in next 100 years, the failure will be repeated. Here is todays article.

A number of areas in the city faced power outages with the first drop of rain. However, the pace of rectifying electricity faults remained painfully slow. The Met Office has forecast cloudy weather with chances of rain in Karachi during next 24 hours

Sorry, I still don’t see any under-pass being flooded. Article mentions roads being flooded, that has been a norm for the city (and I am sure its norm for the whole country), I don’t know why it should be blamed only on the “super duper” Nazim. I don’t shy away from condemning any wrongs whether the act is committed by someone I support or someone I don’t support.
Again, the article talks about streets being flooded, not the infrastructure (bridges/underpasses) built during “super duper” naazim’s time, I don’t think I had a condemnation sentence in my post you are mentioning, as I said above, as soon as I see a wrong I condemn it regardless of who does it.

Read both news carefully, you will find over and under passes flooded with water. Here is another news which clearly says that underpasses were flooded with rain water. “underpasses main paani dakhil hogaya”:)Will you condemn him now?

Sorry sachaydino, your case seems like clutching on tiniest of straws, the same article also says that due to lower level of water traffic continued to go through under-pass, its a sorry state that people are using magnifying glass to find a black spot in the work done by opponent party.

When indicated about non-development in many of Sindhi, Balochi & Pakhtoon areas, he just repeated the names of few of the projects initiated by him. Its a good sign that these issues are now been raised and lets see how they defend their position. Hope they should come up with proper replies instead of fingering out other that they didn’t do anything in their tenures, bcoz MQM mayor again claimed that he did initiated development projects in all areas without any bias.
Position of Qasimabad, Hyderabad (a Sindhi majority area) during MQM’s mayorship who took credit for unbiased development during their tenure.

I have through many pahtan areas during 2003-2008 in the East of Karachi - the area between Qaidabad and Bhains Colony. The main road there was constructed and the flyover was also built in MQM era on the side road from National Highway. Many new sewerage lines were laid over there. But some people in the area always put hurdles in development projects there.

Agreed. there is some work done by MK, but the questions again remain intact:
(1) whether all the funds provided were utilised fully/ properly without any discrimination and bias - I think that is not the case, when you see Qasimabad Hyderabad and Non-MQM areas in Karachi
(2) Whether the funds utilisation was properly audited or MQM is ready for audit of that. Whether or not these funds were transferred to London

There is no harm if funds from Federal Development Fund are spent in Karachi. After all Karachi is a major contributor to federal revenue, and economic hub of Pakistan. I strongly believe if Karachi prospers rest of Pakistan will automatically prosper. in future also karachi should be given funds to improve infra structure.
I think we should stop this debate about why a certain area is being developed. We should all feel happy and take pride in that..

MQM might have done corruption - transferred money to London and made their big houses in Karachi but they spent most of the money on development projects unlike other people who did massive corruption and kept their people in poverty.
This Zulfiqar Mirza is proud of his heritage and his wealth - his sugar mills in Thatta and elsewhere - but what he have done so far for the poor people his area - who are still living extreme poverty.

I don't deny importance of Karachi, but my point was to develop all the areas as per funds allocated. Whether parts of Karachi (Lyari, Malir, etc) or Huyderabad (Qasimabad) all should have been developed without any discrimination, which is unfortunately not the case. Moreover, amount spent is not being reflected from the whatsoever developments made and thats why its inevitable to do an independent audit as demanded by Naimatullah Khan & others.

I already said one's bad can't justify the other's bad. Yes, PPP has not done anything for its voters especially during this tenure, but that does not provide exemption of audit for City Government's audit bcoz the funds allocated were not anyone's personal wealth.

Rs 600 billion? Where did you get this number and for how many years work is it? Also, as you posted the related news yourself, government’s need to make sure that the ‘nallahs’ for rain-water are not blocked.
