Lovers claimed that Karachi’s traffic had become smooth after building of ugly and dangerous cross overs. This is how billions wasted in these ugly ventures.

No one uses this parking plaza due to its location. If some one has to buy something from Regal chowk, what purpose this plaza served for him if he parks his car in this plaza near rainbow center. This useless plaza has not reduced the traffic problems in Saddar Area, as was the purpose for building it. You can see cars and other vehicles parked everywhere in Saddar causing traffic jams, which is the routine headache for ppl of Karachi.

I understand that you hate MQM with passion, but when you make an argument, its better to use unbiased common sense.
Building flyovers and controlling traffic are two things. Even the caption of the picture said that traffic jam is because of wrong parking and hawkers, not because there was something wrong with the road.

^ Agree that building fly overs / roads and controlling traffic are two different things, but building flyovers / roads with proper planning are basis for smooth traffic. I frequently use road shown in picture, it is really a big 'Maarka' to drive from Teen Hatti to Laloo Khet Fly over. crossing Daak khana Chowrangi and Liaquat Abad Market are just like 'Jooey Sheer lana'. At times traffic does not move for 2-3 hours and this happens very frequently, especially when some delegation from PPP comes at 90. The problem could be solved by narrowing area probably kept empty for planting which is full of garbage, etc nowadays or extending the flyover from Laloo khet to Teen Hatti.
By the way, I didn't see any city wardens from Teen Hatti to Laloo Khet for controlling traffic today.

Parking plaza has been constructed at the right place. The problem is with our people and their attitude - they do not want to walk, they want to get off the bus from right in front of their houses.

When all those under-passes/over-head bridges were completed I used them and traffic was really smooth, the traffic jam you are seeing is neither because of an under pass nor an overhead bridge, all I see is what TLK mentioned.

That's no doubt it because it it has killed more innocent people than Taliban. Killing of fellow Muslims on flumsy ground of ethinicity or dissent is totally against the spirit of relegion of Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him. Unfortunaltely all those innocent people being killed were/are mostly poor, working class. Every good Muslim should have passion to hate this cult organization. Don't you agree?

But above photograph does not indicate any VIP movement or any idiot minister passes by. It is just routine everywhere. These ugly structures have created more traffic problems than solving them.

I don't agree that Parking Plaza is at right place, it is at one end of the Saddar (Raibow Centre / starting of Corridor -3), whereas ppl have to buy things from another end (Regal chowk / Cooperative Market), which is not less than a kilo meter. You can walk a kilo meter empty handed in a park, but walking in Saddar's area with goods in your hands is not a easy task. Thats why ppl park their vehicles near the markets they buy goods from instead of parking at plaza. What I do and most of my colleagues do either they left their vehicles at office and use public transport for shopping at Saddar. Next option is to take someone with you and while you are doing shopping, he will be waiting for you in car parked nearby.

People have to change their attitude otherwise we can not progress. The shop owners of the Saddar should be forced to use parking plaza for their cars (most of them have cars) thereby leaving the place for shoppers.

A good idea. In addtion to this, heavy fines should be imposed by traffic police who park their vehicles to block the smooth flow of traffic when parking space is available. When these car walas pakis come to America see how they follow the law. You will never see a paki, parking a car in no parking zone in fear of $100 to $200 fine. God bless Unlce Sam.:)

and on broader note, no amount of roads, flyovers, bridges, subway etc can solve the problem UNLESS people commit to following the law.
