Re: Where are you going on your honeymoon?
Perhaps Kenya. Tanzania is right up there too so its between the two. We want to see Mount Kilimanjaro so we'll take a road trip to that as well.
And Paris since its the most romantic place one earth. My dad loved it when he visited so I would love to go. Also, I speak French so its a win-win situation.
Re: Where are you going on your honeymoon?
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!!!!! i still dont know where im going! and im so curious---its a surprise and have 4 more months to wait......
hmm anyone consider London as a honeymoon location----its great fun on many levels--Cosmopolitan city, great fashion (funky and sophisticated), spectacular shopping, art, culture, history! its all there!

Always wanted to go to Paris; hmm especially Giverny--they're supposed to be beautiful Japanese gardens (bridge on a lake, lily pads and all) where Monet painted some of his most famous pieces:)
Re: Where are you going on your honeymoon?
^ paris is a dream, versailles is beyond beautiful, and frankly, you can't beat their chocolate croissants, and amazing baguette-and-cheese lunches!
also, dijon has lots of funny lookin', fat, black and white cows! :p
Re: Where are you going on your honeymoon?
YP, good friends of ours spent three months in africa trekking around and on safari and had a great time! she actually got mauled by a warthog and ended up with 25 stitches, and they had a run-in with a giant snake too. but they're really adventurous and were roughing it, except for when they were in kenya on a lovely timeshare resort. and they're in iceland at the moment. i think the only places they haven't hit yet are south america and the arctic/antarctica regions. fun!

sounds amazing!! did u get to see the Louvre as well???? munch on pain du chocolat????
How did you find Venice?? Didnt all those masks drive u nuts after a while lol
Re: Where are you going on your honeymoon?
yes, definite munching of chocolate croissants did take place :D
the louvre is closed on tuesdays. the palace at versailles is closed mondays.
we didn't know this and ended up at versailles on monday but the grounds and gardens outside the palace, and still within versailles, were open, and we spent several hours wandering around- its HUGE and Marie-Antoinette's Domain is AMAZING- you must must must must MUST go there.
and then of course we went to the louvre on tuesday when it was closed. d'oh.
but, seriously, we were in paris and it mattered for all of two minutes- we spent the whole day wandering around the city on foot, soaking up the culture, and shopping on the champs élysées. sigh i soooo want to go back!
for you history lovers, i would also highly recommend prague and budapest. both beautiful cities with great shopping and history and culture.
venice was great too! i have to admit, initially i was a bit disappointed- the truth is, it IS sinking and falling apart, which is a shame. but then its also 3000 years old and you really, really get this amazing feeling being in a city that old. the shops are amazing and expensive, and the artisans who make the masques are so skilled and make such beautiful stuff- we bought this gorgeous one home to hang on our wall, and of course, hello! murano glass jewellery??? to die for!
BUT the water is really dirty though in all the canals so we skipped the gondola ride. its also something like US $150 for a ride!
now that sounds like a perfect trip. Just wondering how long did you stay in each country?
first trip was during my studies and it was of 19,20 days.
and second trip was 15 days.
Re: Where are you going on your honeymoon?

ooooo I would love to see Paris!!! Your initial reaction to Venice was the same as mine---like this is it???? Is this wht all the fuss was abt????? Its really sad when you walk around and see so much graffiti and the city is pretty dilapidated...wish they would renovate it--thought most ppl say that the charm....
yeah the gondola rides r so expensive--but definitely worth it if u get to see all those palazzo's on the grad canal....yayyyyy for gelato and pizza.....:):)
yups--murano glass and burano lace:):):)
ur description is amazing--saw some of ur piixxx on facebook--wish there were more......and versailles sound beautiful!! did u go on the Seine rides in the evening?????
