Where are they now?????

Re: Where are they now?????

haha dude, did you know Karachi is ranked as one of the WORST cities to live in, by The Economist? Now if I post the link, the director will dictate and remove the link. The study took into account everything, from crime to health care. All hail Altaf Bhai!

Re: Where are they now?????

lol forget Zulfiqar Mirza, look at the stuff I posted from the Dept of State US, Jane's, look at court rulings from Canada, everyone thinks the MQM is a bunch of terrorists. Now obviously those that believe in the 'bhai ka joh ghadar hai maut ka hakdar hai' philosophy.

Re: Where are they now?????

Are you on dope? Aap ko itni takleef kyoon ho gayi, what the hell are you talking about? I didnt even call your beloved altaf bhai anything in this thread yet... itni muhabbat hai aap ko altaf bhai sey key blind ho gaye? I am merely criticizing terrorism in the MQM and you sprout out from no where lol.

You are free to call zia or nawaz sharif or whoever else whatever you want, in any language you want, because they're not my prophets nor my quaid-e-azams.

Re: Where are they now???

Here is the economist results from 2007 which talks about the livability of all the cities in the worl, at the peak of MQM’s uninterrupted and unopposed reign in power… See how they made Karachi better:

Re: Where are they now?????

I can understand why this list makes you happy. Karachi being the worst cities in the world is the ultimate aim of racist extremists in Pakistan. I already said that goal of such hatred-filled people is to make Karachi another village. Look at Hyderabad, which used to be the third largest city of Pakistan at one time.

Remember, the list included cities from all over the world. And even then if Karachi is one of the worst cities in the world then our focus should be to improve the situation in Karachi, not to LAUGH on it. This just shows your hatred.
And now that we know that things need to improve then it is the people of Karachi who are in the best position to decide if they are going to better or worse. And every Karachiite, even non-Karachiites, say that MQM did help improve things a lot in Karachi.

Re: Where are they now???

BTW, Islamabad and Lahore were not far from Karachi. I am saying this just to darken up your day.

One of the reasons Karachi did not rank well was the environmental conditions. For the size of the city, there should have already been a light rail and subway system in Karachi. But thanks to Karachi-haters like … it still does not exist. Thus Karachi has to rely on buses and mini-buses which cause a lot more pollution in the city. And when someone try to control this situation then it becomes an ethnic issue. Because most transport is in the hands of Pashtun and Punjabi.

The city has the biggest challenges in the transport and air quality categories, where it ranks well below the average.

“In these categories, **it is marked down particularly for lacking a superior public transport network, such as metro lines, bus rapid transit system or trams **and for high average daily concentrations of the three air pollutants evaluated in the index.” Nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide and suspended particulate matter remains the three major air pollutants in Karachi, it added.

Karachi’s main challenges include vehicle emissions, industrial pollution and open burning. The city remains vulnerable because its environment policies are not comprehensive, it said.

So now that we know transport is one of the biggest problems of Karachi, do you know which party is actively working to improve this situation? It is MQM. No one else cares for the city.

The MQM had raised the issue of Karachi Mass Transit Project through a call attention notice in the National Assembly on Thursday by raising questions why the project was kept pending when the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) was ready for funding and even the Railways Ministry was also supporting the project.

Hina Rabbani said at present the JICA was carrying out the assessment and feasibility study of the project, which was likely to be completed by June this year. “After that, JICA’s study for corridors of funding for the project would start. It would enable us to start work on the project, which is worth over one billion US dollars,” she said.

However,** the question of MQM legislators remained unanswered, who repeatedly asked how many feasibility reports will be made**.

Re: Where are they now?????

Well, I don't know what reports you are talking about. But as I said earlier, there are extremist fringe elements in every party, including MQM. Such people are more visible in Karachi because of Karachi being a multi-ethnic city, where people from all over Pakistan live. Therefore the city has more susceptibility to ethnic extremism.

Re: Where are they now?????

Why don't you also criticize terrorism in ANP and PPP's Lyari gangs?

Re: Where are they now?????

So you think anyone snatching a cellphone MUST be an MQM member?
Just another example of hatred towards Urdu speakers (not just MQM).

No they were not MQM members. My cousin's cellphone was not just snatched but he was also beaten up there. Only because he was an Urdu speaker in predominantly Sindhi university. Now he has given up on his education in that university.

And just for "clarification". My cousin does not belong to any political party.

Re: Where are they now?????

Law and order is the responsibility of provincial government as well, and MQM is not the only ruling party in govt of Sindh. It also includes PPP and ANP.
So you can put all the blame on MQM for maintaining law and order.
All law enforcement agencies are controlled by provincial government.

I hate the MQM btw
[/QUOTE]

If you admit your hatred then your opinion does not matter towards MQM. Because your opinion is biased and clouded by your hatred.

Re: Where are they now?????

Why do you have to turn everything into "you hate us"? He is posting a study/report from 3rd party citing a failed administration of the city, why do you have to accuse him that he is enjoying this failure? When are we going to stop using lenses of hate?

MQM has a fair share in the blame for lawlessness, in 1980s MQM started campaign to 'throw out VCR buy a KK', they handed out TTs to little kids (12-16 years of age).

Re: Where are they now?????

Just becuase I don't live there doesn't mean that I can't judge. And you don't have to take my word for it........every last one of my friends and family that live in Karachi will tell you the same thing that I am telling you.

I don't know what you are reading or understanding but I have not said that I agree Karachi is better. In fact I am saying that I prefer peace over structural improvements that serve no purpose.

MQM is a terrorist party that rules through threats. Nothing more. To me they will always be jahil.

Re: Where are they now?????

if you have this mindset, then i don't know why you bother to start a thread and wanted to have fair discussion.

Re: Where are they now?????

Perhaps this question should be posed to those that govern Karachi?......let's see....who might they be?????

Re: Where are they now?????

I can have any mindset I please.......that does not prevent a fair discussion.
How am I hindering the discussion as a result of my opinion?

Re: Where are they now?????

Precisely my point.
And wait for it.......we'll have loyalists come in and suggest that this was done by a minority of "extremists" from the party.
pffffft!

Re: Where are they now?????

you already fully explain your thoughts about mqm to me they will always be jahil. I think it's enough to end the discussion. What is the point to even discuss when any debate will not change your point of view.

Re: Where are they now?????

Obvioulsy you don't have anything to win me over with. Its the same old stuff...over and over again. When you are presented with plain evidence of corruption all you can do is point to similar corruption in other parties......and somehow that makes it okay.

I have yet to meet an MQM supporter that will stand up and say :"The behaviour of my party sucks. We have abused the power that the middle class of Karachi entrusted to us. We have turned on our own party members and plainly executed them when we thought they would foil our plans of greed and self-promotion/adoration. Power corrupts and my party is an excellent example."

You can end your participation any time you feel like it.

Re: Where are they now?????

just to clarify i am not mqm member neither i am from Karachi and neither i am Urdu speaker. Cartoon will be last person to receive my support. But madame with due respect most of the lot who are against MQM, their attitude is racist towards them.

If they are continuing to receive votes, they have my respect regardless of how much gunda/gardi they do.

Re: Where are they now?????

There you go again, playing the racism/victim card. Are you people mentally challenged or just incapable of coexisting with your average Pakistani (pakhtun/punjabi/baloch)? Nobody is trying to make Karachi a village, the sooner you stop believing in your deluded conspiracy theories the better. And there's one of the reasons I hate the MQM, my hate is based on valid factors and it's not like your blind hate for everyone who didn't have a par-dada living in India.
