yeah I forgot about the screaming thing too, it's so freaky right? I don't know why it happens but I can't even shout or try to wake somebody else up to help me, It's not every night though but still freaky!!
Glad i'm not the only one that's experienced that.

my nightmares have sometimes been of a ghostly presence trying to hurt me but the scariest nightmares have been of when I have sleep paralysis during those times and I try to get myself to wake up out of panic but i'm completely paralyzed and can't even defend myself.
Sleep paralysis is supposed to be quite common but it's so freaky and scary...anybody else been through something like that?
I'm not sure if what I experienced was 'sleep-paralysis'. I didn't see a "nightmare", rather some noise (outside home) caused me to wake up, my senses are functional but body is not in control (paralysis?) after few seconds it appeared as if my 'rooh' came back to body (entering from head) and then I could move my body. Sometimes I heard a voice calling my name and saying "

The most freaking part in my case that I thought that I am awake. You know how you wake up at night, you see your bed, dark room (but visible because of some light), fan is running so it has a noise
and then you get into dream without knowing, its the same room, same setup, you thin kyou are still awake , but now there is this "SOMEONE" sitting on your chest.
You are scared, you want to shout or move but your whole body is paralyzed

^^captain yea it’s like you have no control over your body or voice and yea I remember one nightmare where I could hear a voice and it’s the stupidest thing ever but I don’t know why I had that quote from “batman”
of all movies in my head but that’s the quote that I heard in my nightmare “have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moon light” and I had that paralysis and I just have to wait until I wake up because I can’t scream or shout but those seconds or minutes(I don’t even know how long it takes) are the scariest!!

That happens to every one. I use to happen vert often to me in pakistan, since I am in canada only happened to me once. in like 7 years.
I happens/happened to all my bro-cousin-friends every one of them.
I guess its a condition when you brain wakes up but body is still in sleep mode.

TLK that's exactly right but i don't know about the someone but there is definitely a heaviness or pressure on top of your body.

Indopak, in my case it was a bieng, a human maybe, sitting on me, sometime a short child like adult

no, I did not have any kids at that time .. though I was married already
Let me tell you something more strange
One night my wife was sleeping next to me and she heard that voice in her dream to wake up and then wake tariq up, cause he is going to get scared
She woke up, kind of half dazed, looking twoards me (I’m sleeping) when that thing came and sat on my chest. I tried to shout and what not and she saw my expressions changing or sensed my discomfort amd pretty woke me up
that was weird

No never, cause room was always dark
It was always some child size adult, that is all I knew, and I think female (but not sure about that part)

i did read your post :pand I had also googled "sleep paralysis" a while back and that's why I knew the name of whatever thing I was experiencing...it just shows how much of a mystery the human brain is.
