What’s with the comments like “nothing can be done about Pakistan now”?
We make up Pakistan. We could step forward and do something. Anything.
But then there’s people telling me there’s no point in even trying to do anything because this country is doomed. ermm it’s doomed because no one cares to take control. If every Pakistani took some responsibility, would we not be able to make even the slightest of difference? Or am I just being naive and truly nothing can be done now?
Posts made by Pakistanis both inside and outside of Pakistan.
I would suggest you look again.....juss sayin..
BTW........ self-pity and despair is only a natural reaction in such times.......
things can be done?? sure...they can be........but will they be? thats another question.......a particular mix of circumstances and conditions is required before something 'will' happen......and those have not yet come into being.
Barbie, this is the same attitude people living in Pakistan usually have. 'Iss qaum ka kuch nahi ho sakta', OR 'koi haal nai aye'
I wont call it self pity. I would call it defeatist attitude. People like me dont see any worth in putting efforts and hence it keeps rubbing on to other people.
But there are people amongst youth who ARE thinking of bringing change by doing little things first. Its a long road. But hope is last to die.
I lost hope in Pakistan the day our people elected Zardari for president. Call me a pessimist or whatever, but I don't see our situation improving anywhere in foreseeable future.

Our people did not elect him. It was political maneuvering. President does not get elected directly by public voting in Pakistan. If Zardari leads PPP in a public election and the elections are fair and square PPP will lose election , big time.
Give it whatever fancy name you want, but I see the same set of people molesting us for ages. There was a time when those two idiotic twats Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Shareef were taking turns molesting the whole nation like Michael Jackson's dad, yet even today there are people who bow down to them. Heck there are people even on GS (so I reckon they are educated ones) who defend and support Zardari. And quite honestly everytime I visit Pakistan it is in a worst shape than before - esp people's attitude. Seems like most of the educated civilized lot has fled the country already, those who haven't will follow sooner or later. It is hurtful to see so much crap happening in a place where I was born and have childhood memories associated with, but yeah, not much one can do about it. Like I said earlier, call me a pessimist or whatever but I don't think it is going to change anytime soon. Can't say about any future miracles. Optimism is good, blind patriotism isn't.
I'm not even talking about a revolution here. I'm talking about taking small steps that could lead to bigger, better things. I'm saying what if Pakistanis actually took some responsibility and started treating the land as their home for once. For example, why is there rubbish everywhere on the streets leading to pollution and diseases. The local authorities are useless! We could very easily keep on blaming them or we could actually take charge and start cleaning up ourselves. Dispose of the rubbish properly and organise weekly "cleaning" programmes where the entire neighbourhood could spend an hour or two cleaning up their area. Set up competitions for the cleanest town/city/village of the year. It can work. I don't believe in this "nothing we do will make any difference" stuff.
By being good with our neighbors and community. Help each other and not just pull each others leg. Get to know our friends who are in need in Pakistan or even in the community. Extend support morally and financially if we are able to do that to other people. And once this is done, it would be easier to get out of self defeated attitude.
What should we, Pakistanis be ashamed at????
Where is the evidence That whatever that happened recently, happened in Pakistan?
US claimed Iraq had Nuclear Weapons...Sorry but i didnt happen to come across any such finding after the brutal attack!!!

Whenever US blame on Pakistan it remember me story of Little Lamb and Wolf. Whatever be the reason Pakistan is not allowed to say NO.
