Re: What were you doing when you heard about the 9/11 attacks?
I was watching Neighbours,of all things, when there was a BBC news flash.I tell you, I went ice cold as my sister was attending a breakfast meeting in Windows of the World restaurant.
Have not watched a single episode since.
And they did think it was a bomb at first...they were told to evacuate.
Re: What were you doing when you heard about the 9/11 attacks?
^so u trying to say that a military that comprehended alien invasion and held exercises to counter potential UFO attacks and is desperate to communicate with extra terrestrial failed to comprehend the magnitude of a civilian plane hitting a tall building especially when an accident of this sort took place in 1940's when an american bomber hit empire state building in fog?????

I was working across the street at the One World Financial Center. Needless to say, all the things that happened during that day are forever engraved in my memory. Maybe I'll blog it.
Re: What were you doing when you heard about the 9/11 attacks?
are you serious? I am so sad to hear that Charmed.
Absolutely..:(...stupid girl wasn't even supposed to be there. There were some people going from London who wanted to meet her,and thought htis would be an ideal opportunity.
Funny thing (not funny haha, but funny peculiar) was that Ammi was at the darzi in Karachi, and she actually collapsed at exactly the same time the North Tower went down.Allah ki shaan, bus.
Hey ho...you learn to live with the pain....
Thank you for your kind words TLK...and sehrysh...

I never came across anyone (never wanted to because of the pain that event caused to me without having any known person involved) on such one on one basis who lost a love one in WTC attack so I dont even know what to say. All I can say that may Allah grant her the best place in jannat and give you and your family sabr-e-jameel

Thank you, that's what I pray for every day...and I know my prayer will be heard, because she is the the most nicest, decent, caring and loving person you could ever hope to meet.Plus, she only got married three months earlier.
I just feel for my parents, who literally aged before my very eyes.

It was like 6:30 or 7:30pm, i was at dad's office in Faisalabad. The first thing he said was i been to WTC and this is a very bad news for Muslims and then he start calling his brother & cousins in New York.
I was like 14 .. after like half hour of attack we left for a family party.

OMG Charmed, that is horrible...Im so sorry for your family. Allah only knows what your parents and you must have gone through. May Allah swt grant her Jannatul Firdaus.
I was working when it happened. I used to work as a trainer for a fitness chain and the whole gym went quiet...all the TVs were fixed on the news and people were just staring.
Later that day, one of my co-workers erupted at me...yelling all sorts of crazy things like "how could your people do this to us" and swore at me (he was a Jehovah's witness).
