i had just come home from school and gone straight to the living room to give salaam and my mum was in there watching the news. I remember being a bit underwhelmed by the whole thing, not really understanding how serious it was but at the same time wondering why the news were on at such an unusual time of day. And although muslims have always gotten a negative press, i could never have imagined the implications this would have on islam after.

so, your problem is with me saying that these hatefilled khutbas that promote a victim complex among young people and brainwash them are one factor why ppl join up these terrorist causes. but you don't have a problem with these imams who themselves go home to shag their 4 wives but want the young kids to go fight for some sham Islamic ummah in far off lands?
btw, if these sermons that have been going on for decades and are a-okay by you, why don't you invite your director to your masjid and translate your imam's khutba especially when he starts cursing the kufaar and wishing destruction upon them. I'm sure he will continue to support you after that.
Lots of assumptions, I can't teach a kid who has his mind already setup on Iranman or Spiderman.

bacha party just because you get your world views from comic books like Iranman and Spaderman doesn't mean I do as well...
I wish I could think like a kid and get world views from comic books, my kids would've been happiest ones around. I am sure some people's kids must be very lucky in that regard.

it was 8:30 am and I was sleeping. I got a phone call from my ex that omg, omg turn the tv on , I jumped outa bed, switched on and shocked to my core to see what was happening.

Such a strange day that was ... I was in Dubai, the company I used to work for , our HO were based in the WTC ... Our Group Operations Director had gone to NY just two days before for board meeting. That fateful day , we were having a video conference with our Directors in NY ... when all of a sudden a chaotic screaming was heard ... We all got confused , the Director informed us that there was a fire emergency .. and before he could finish, the lines got disconnected .. We tried connecting again , but it didnt connect ... half hour later , we saw the news channels reporting the incident and shocked as we were .. we suddenly realized the gravity of it , there was panic all across our office ... we tried contacting our HO but no use , lines were jammed ...
We kept waiting all day long for news , any news .. but none came ... a week later one of our MD's called us and informed us that the offices were destroyed and only those who were off work that day survived ... it was like living a nightmare ... we all cried so helplessly ...
Till day, i still believe , terrorism has no religion ... Who ever was behind 9/11 was no different from any other aggressive forces around the world killing muslims ... yes , we muslims have seen a very tough time over the years and the world has been unfair to us ... but , this is not the way muslims or Islam would encourage revenge ... this was a corward's revenge ... I still cry everytime I see documentaries on 9/11 ... it was the day that changed the world ... just like the day that changed the world when hiroshima was attacked ... 9/11 was another turning point for the world history.

My father in law swiched on the tv and came to know .... I was still sleeping ......my husband woke me up .....We were all in such a shock and really Couldnt believe something so horrific.

I was like deep in a cool, I wasn't gonna be nobody’s fool. I could not care less who was there, could’ve been like anywhere, I was chillin’ with my kool aid.

I was in Pakistan ... I saw the footage in disbelief and was drawn to the screen with an awe from the scale of the attack. To this day I could not believe that the Americans with all their technology didn't prevent this from happening. It almost seemed that either they believed it could not happen to them or that they turned a blind eye to it to spur future actions to be justified.

I was at work when wife called from her work and told me. I tried login to yahoo but site was jammed because of the traffic. Someone turned on a TV in one of the conf rooms and hooked it to the wall projector. I saw both towers falling on a 12 by 10 feet screen. Not a good feeling. I think like many around the world, it was one of the most terrible days of my life.

so u saying that an airforce that claims to be the best in world,has jets that can hit mach 6 and are trained from cold-war era to scramble under 2 minutes waited intentionally for 10-12 minutes and allowed the second passenger plane to hit the tower??

Evey one was caught off guard when the first plane hit the towers. It was not till the second plane hit that people realized that its an attack and not an accident.

I am not trying to take the side of US govt, especially when there was a report that in late august, Bush administration was informed that terrosirt are planning an attack on American soil that involves commercial jets hitting tall buildings (Fahrenheit 911) ... but if that information was not shared with military and other law enforcement agencies then it was almost impossible to comprehend the nation wide size of that attack by just watching WTC attack in progress.
