Re: What were you doing at 8:46 AM EST, Sept. 11, 2001

I was in Karachi at that time at my Nani's house. I remember my mamoo saying "This is what they deserve." People in Pakistan were actually cheering up.
Back here in Chicago. My classmates told me that some Muslim students mainly Pakistanis came out in the hallways cheering Allah O Akbar. Some teachers got freaked out & security was called & a lot of crap happened after that. (I m talking abt High school here where we have a lot of desis)

P.S This might sound creepy & I dunno if I should be writing this online or not but I saw literally the whole incident & even a glimpse of the war in Afghanistan on August 13 in my dream. At that time my family brushed it off saying that it was because u r not a big fan of living in U.S.A. That's why. Later on everyone was like dun mention it to anyone :S

.

I was in Lahore at my cousin's house at that time. We were just sitting in the living room when my cousin's 2-year old turned on the TV by accidentally hitting the Power button. I was just about to go and turn the TV off again, when I realized that PTV was having a live feed from CNN. I called those who were in other rooms of the house at that time. This was just minutes after the second tower was hit. It was an incredibly sad time and the aftereffects still are extremely bad.

Re: What were you doing at 8:46 AM EST, Sept. 11, 2001

Had just come back from College and saw the second plane hit the tower live.

Re: What were you doing at 8:46 AM EST, Sept. 11, 2001

I was working in my company at Petulama, California very late and on September 11 I was totally tun and asleep. My Dad called me from Lahore and he said, I will always remeber his words, america tabah hora hai tum abhi tak sohe hoi ho. :hehe:

I was in my English class at Flushing High School in NY and a teacher came running into the classroom in tears and started pointing at the WTC and said that we have been attacked. She started to exaggerate the situation by saying that planes have been high jacked in all the big cities and they are targeting financial and government buildings. I started to get Goosebumps, I ran to the lunch room to tell my friends as to what has happened by the time we all came back up the first tower was down and within few min the second one came down too. Around 10:00AM I left school and as I was walking down on Northern Blvd I saw military humvees going towards the city, I got onto the bus and people were already talking about how Osama & Muslims are behind these attacks, I was fortunate enough to have this Black Muslim on the bus who started defending Muslims and I just sat their waiting for my stop but at the same time all scared as to any minute a fight would breakout. I did not go to school for rest of the week and stayed home.
