I'm a UK size 12! Lol.....
Spanx do really good undergarments....You could try one of their body shapers to wear under your wedding dress....they'll give you a smoother silhouette...

yeah... nadz, i tried posting more but the pics are a bit too big and i cant seem to crop them any further.
Re: so is size 12(UK) thats 8/10 usa, too big for a bride?
I wear a size 0/2 and my UK size is 6/8. So I think the sizing is off.
I recently got married masha allah ! I was a fat bride and I felt perfectly great about myself . I also didnt hear a single negative comment abt myself infact did get alot of appreciation. Just be confident , it will automatically show glow and happiness on your face. Don't appear to be a bride who is concious abt her looks , love yourself the way you are. If you ask the traditional sharara looks better on chubby girls. And no one has a right to comment on your looks , no body is perfect . Just by being slim doesn't make anyone perfect looking. One should look healthy and we have got life only once and I don't think we should live our good youth years in refraining ourselves from the food we love offcourse excess of anything is not good but lets just enjoy life !

Nadz, as long as your husband is happy with the way you look, does it matter what people say? You could be size 8 or size 32! If he's still marrying you, who gives a flying f*** about what anyone else thinks.

Very rightly said ! if your husband loves you and accept you the way you are then why bother abt what the world is saying. Personally I feel the aunts and other women are more bothered abt the looks of brides than the hubby himself.
exactlyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
im fair skinned and many oif my cusins are alot darker, and they keep sayingaap apney face ko bleach karti hain and im like wtf, no i do not bleach my face. they refuse to beleive its my skin culour, they kp pestering me and wathing me day and night to see if i go and shove a load of fair and lovely on...which i dnt. they all use it in pakistan and i laugh everytime they take their bottle out cos its made no difference to them. but they thik cos im from london thats why im fair..........or cos i dnt drink coffee thats why im fair..or some other BS......
SO thats why they make fun of my size...cos even though im not fat, they will call me fat cos they want to make fun of somethingto make themselves feel better
THEY ARE JEALOUS OF YOU!!! Relax and stay your healthy size 12... Women with curves are the epitome of womanliness...
NAdz you are absolutely right. THey are just looking for something negative about you, even if it doesnt exsist. Im not sure about sizes and all. I'm in US, and all sometimes i fit into a small for some things, and sometimes its a large, it really depends on how the clothes are cut. So don't let this get to you.
I have recently gained weight and went to a friends wedding a few weeks ago. Last time these people saw me I was about 20 lbs less which makes a BIG difference on a short person. I was prepared for the "to phele patli thi nah" comments. I just smiled and said... what can I say, I have a full tiime job at an office, where i sit on my A** and talk to people on the phone all day, and I get paid VERY well, and my company is always feeding me.... and I asked the auntys if they had an suggestions, and if I should start working in retail stores where I get to run around all day and get paid minimum wage like their daugthers. That shut them up. LOL and I wasnt rude about it either.
I love your response... I will use that one... :)

Re: what sort of bridal outfit should a curvier woman wear so as not to look bigger
sadzz the color of ur dress is really very nice.
Re: what sort of bridal outfit should a curvier woman wear so as not to look bigger
its been ages since i been on here!!
i know this sounds a little sad but im size 12 with a big booty too and my mum and fam keep telling me im not gonna get married this size ( so now im eating a carrot a day or something stupid) but its reassuring!
Anyway as for clothes..dont wear a shirt that ends at your widest point so a longer shirt is a good idea and one which highlights your waist.
Wear darker colours as they make you look slimmer and have more kaam at the bottom so thats where the attention is diverted.
you could arrange your dupatta so it covers your bottom too.
Oh and a high heel always makes a girl look slimmer!

whens your wedding....unfortunately i am wearing a lighter colour on waleema..however i found i look better in light colours, i wore a dark culour for my engagement and i didnt like the way it looked. maybe was the makeup or material, however i wore green and gold on my mendi. was a light culour looked lovely...

Well if a light colour looks good on you then go for it! it was just a generic idea.
My cousin recently had her nikkah in pakistan and she is about size 12/14 and she actually looked quite slim in her outfit ( in the pics anyway) because the makeup people (goshi in karachi) really contoured her face and set the dupatta to compliment her figure.
where is your wedding ?is it in pakistan?
Im not getting married...i initaly came on here because i was getting my first few rishtas...nothing has come of them since...my parents are getting worried...but thats a whole other thread!
Re: what sort of bridal outfit should a curvier woman wear so as not to look bigger
definitely wear a longer shirt if you're chesty... and no square necklines; round looks best on us top-heavy girls.
