What language would you speak/know, if you could only speak/know one? And, why would you want to speak/know that particular language over all others?

Oooh this one is tough. I suppose sign language becuase if you can make the signs you can comunicate with many people even if they dont speak the same language as you or dont understand words.

any language that's widely spoken and understood by the masses in your area of living...in case of Canada, where i live, it'll be English and if i chose to live in India, my native country, i would speak Hindustani [a mix of Urdu N Hindi] :)

how can I determine the choice of language one sidedly. Language is reciprocation basically. I hope I will be lucky enough to know the language of the people i will be among.

Urdu is my first choice, followed by punjabi and if it's interaction with foreigners than for sure it's English.

i choose urdu na... he asked which language wud u choose.. i wud choose urdu anyway even if i can speak or cant speak.. so dats y i sed i already knw urdu.. :D
