I still believe that the matter is in the hands of the OP. He should avoid being in that situation where he sees his sister in transparent clothes. He can spend daytime in the ground portion of the house, unless he is banned for some reason or simply stay outside, with friends etc.

During the night he can stay in his room in the upper portion (I hope they are not sharing a room together?) and avoid contact as much as he can. There are hundreds of reasons where he can avoid such situation.

Now you have discussed this with your mother the next step is to avoid your sister as much as possible. Over the time when she cools down she may take note of your behaviour and may change her dressing patterns.

Let me be the firstone then, well men chest hair are quite a turn on for women so yeah men bodies are attractive even if they roam around in banyaann

Seeing all those advertisements and movies made me believe that bare and 'chikni' male chest is what is desired by women nowadays. But its heartwarming to see that guys like me still have some hope.

That’s not exactly what I meant.

I meant that a man’s body is only deemed ‘sexual’ by women if it belongs to a very attractive man.I never said that women don’t have that ability to be attracted to men’s bodies. They can, but there are very few men with sexually appealing bodies. I’m sure every woman (incl myself :-I:) ) can lust after the body of Channing Tatum, Jensen Ackles or that guy in True Blood, but the bodies of the vast majority of young men don’t have any ‘sexual value’ to them.

Whereas the average young womans body is still appealing to men. Not just the hot models and actresses you see on TV, but also most young women you see on a campus, workplace or mall.

Lets put it this way: The female body is sexually appealing by default but an appealing male body is an exception rather than a rule.

I dont think there is a need to back it up with scientific studies (although I remember reading atleast a few of them) because there is plenty of evidence of this you can see in daily life and in how the sexes interact.

Like have you noticed how women say they need to like a man for his personality and inner qualities first in order to be attracted to him? Have you wondered why women say they require a lot of time to “grow into” a man? Well, its because women struggle to find most men sexually attractive on the basis of looks and bodies alone. But the same women can lust after a handsome model without knowing anything about him.

Have you noticed that, generally, men have to put more effort in dating and courtship? Why they have to pursue the woman, take her on dates, impress her with intellect, humor, charm, conversation etc. Its like he has to ‘make her’ attracted to him. Its again because most men are not ‘naturally’ appealing to women and so they have to make a woman attracted to him through their actions. There is more to these things than just cultural expectations !

i will clear people about why i stay at home, i just finished my graduation and waiting for Masters program to start which will take a few months. And i dont have any friends in the neigborhood, all of my friends are from my university so i dont meet them much. And yes she was ok before its been just a year that she has started to be like this i mean started to wear revealing clothes. But she still look angry and i am trying my best to avoid her. The thing is why is it so hard for her to wear appropriate dress infront of me. Its hot outside then inside the house but she wears decent clothing outside. And even wears duppata when wearing thin clothes if dad or younger brother is around no matter if she is upstairs or down. But never infront of me. But from now on i am avoiding her as much i can.

Queen, your recent post came AFTER Op’s update about the situation. Given the girl’s response, i doubt that she’d have behaved any better if OP had talked directly with her and that too in a gruff manner. IF the mom had used a calm approach and it led to this much drama…I imagine that a blunt remark from the brother would have been worse.

As for my using the words shameful or sinful…they were to expand on ur use of the word “embarrassing” as I found it vague. Op’s post is not embarrassing..his language wasn’t crude…he explained the situation as decently as possible. And though going thru the mom did not work…i still think it was better than him snapping dhang k kapre nahi pehn sakti and storming off. I never accused u of not knowing how to dress, nor do u have to prove it to me. I just asked the question to challenge your former suggestion, that’s all.

I am not talking about OP’s language or approach here. Also I don’t know why you are trying to defend the situation. I respect your opinion but thats what YOU think and not necessarily I should be agreeing with you. To me, the situation is embarrassing where a brother feels difficult to convey what he wants from his sister.

And ofcourse my opinions can change after updates in any thread because different situations lead us to give different suggestions or opinions.

If I keep myself in his shoe, I might not be able to discuss any such thing regarding my kin sibling, whats wrong with that?? Its just that me!! I don’t know why you are trying to justify the situation again and again and dragging me to clear it to you… it was supposed to be my one time opinion!!

Its about hayaa…OP is not that frank with his sister that he is able to tell her she’s wearing revealing clothes and to cover up. Here, on an anonymous forum where no one knows who he is or who his sister is…its safe to ask. Asking someone like his friend or even another sibling would have been disrespectful. IMO…he’s not wrong to want his sister to dress a bit more appropriately. What’s wrong with that? Its not as if he asked her to put a burqa on…just wear a dupatta if you plan on wearing see through lawn!

I have a situation at my house and it is being going for more then a year now, we all know how pakistani girls dress these days, maybe not all of them but many. I have a sister she is around 24 and i am 22 myself. She is a nice person always being positive but the problem is her clothes, we are a family of 5 and** live in a big house,** The problem with her is she whenever she is in the house she changes to these normal house dress which is way too thin in the house never bothers to have duppata over it. She dresses decently when going out but at home her dress is just too much transparent…and it gets worst when she is working in the house because of the heat and sweat. I can not explain im sure you know what i mean and i really hate it.

I just wan to ask that is there anybody in the same situation, should i confront her for that because its a little complicated, what if she gets it the wrong way. What should i say to her?

This case is quite clear and the onus is always on the holder and ones behavior can not be controlled by others by that I feel the sister knows exactly what she is doing and is fully aware of it and making the situation awkward.
