I dont really look for color, But if someone prefer lighter skin, we shld be okay with that.
If one goes for color he's paidu...
other goes for breast size he is perverted....
I guess hair style. facial structure and height of a gal r options left ?

Some ppl think going for a hijabi gal is paiduish too...

woah really then i dont want to see the other creatures :) I think Quran may suggest perhaps in nature because iblism (Satan) was quite beautiful in appearance and often its the beautiful that are unfaithful.

Wow… this seems like a discussion in the Religion forum.

Let me just break it down to you:

This complexion is plain jaahil.
Religion has nothing to do with it.
Where the hell did the Taliban come into this?!
All people are beautiful, no matter if they’re black/brown/white/etc, fat/skinny, tall/short, etc. etc. etc. The only thing that makes one ugly is the illusion that people think of themselves of more beautiful than others and make that apparent!
I’m saanwali, and I’m thankful of Allah for making me that way! We should be grateful for how we look, what if you get a skin disease on the way.. think abt that.

it’s plain wrong and sadly, exists all over our society. i was so impressed when i went to pakistan, my grandfather’s tennants are a big family, mA and everyone, even their relatives, are all goray chittay and so good looking. one of the brothers got married to this girl who had wheatish complexion and she would constantly tell him how she would live in their house since everyone was so fair except her and it made her feel all awkward. the guy told her, i chose you because you’re beautiful inside out and i don’t care how fair or dark you are, you’re stunning to me and so attractive. even his entire family would always talk about how much kashish there is on a dark person’s face. i was just really surprised to see people with such views.. especially when every other person told me, oh you’re from amreeka, you should be white and all plump.. why aren’t you gori, do you not eat?

I don’t get why people who prefer fair skin are being considered paindu and narrow minded. In the beauty section the minute anyone opens a thread about fairness product ya all jump on her and preach how dark is beautiful. You know what, it all boils down to personal choice and if dark skin tone is beautiful so is fair skin. If its only the matter of being comfortable in what you have then why do any other beauty stuff?? I don’t see you judging anyone who wants a tan, are they not doing the samething?
And plz don’t give examples of celebrities beacuse they are so vain and would do anything to fit the acceptable moulde of beauty.

the desire for fair skin comes from institutionalized oppression and lack of privilege that darker skinned people have experienced vs. fairer skinned people. this comes from the history of western domination n critical race theory, white privilege is a set of advantages enjoyed by white people beyond those commonly experienced by non-white people in the same social, political, and economic spaces (nation, community, workplace, income, etc.). Theorists differentiate it from racism or prejudice because, they say, a person who may benefit from white privilege is not necessarily racist or prejudiced and may be unaware of having any privileges reserved only for whites.
what we see as beautiful is a refelction of who has access to wealth, economics, education and in this world where the west has dominated it is only natural that one correlates white beauty to these things.

there is no tangible quality that makes white better than brown.

I had heard that Vital Signs first made the song, Gore Rang Ka Zamana. And then they received complaints from the darker-skinned damsels.....and as a result they later came out with "Sanwali Siloni." Don't know if that's true.

HOWEVER.....if Vital Signs DID receive some criticism for Gore Rang Ka Zamana, it could be due to the lyrics such as "gori dar tujhay kis ka hai, tera to rang gora hai," which sort of reflects the damaging societal attitudes about skin color. Saying that a girl has got nothing to be scared or worried about cuz she's fair-skinned...can help perpetuate the erroneous belief that the only thing a girl needs for a good life is a chitti chambri.

sanwali saloni is still better then the goray rang ka zamana song. lolz :D now ill go burn a cd with that song. thankkoo namaan and ill try to not kill my future hubby for this reason, ill figure out an other excuse :P jk . lets all us brown skiinned ppl make this song our anthem lmao :D

this obsession is not limited to pakistanis in fact every culture except America and parts of Europe have this backwards mentality that white skin is superior and beautiful, a concept which was in fact introduced by "white occupation" over "colored people".

forget the aunties, its up to us to change the mentality of our future generations and that begins at home with our own families and the examples we set.

my fiance is dark skinned and i am fair skinned... does that bother us, not in the least...
