This is my first post here in this section … First of all i expect that i will enjoy here my stay.
Now here my Question, What Imran Nazir is doing ??? Being an Opening Player of a Pakistani National Team He should take the responsibility as a key Player, So in that way team can fight back… In my point of view a good Opening total matters alot. So If he got a chance coming back in the team… He should perform, Whenever he comes to play he is like a playing for a local Mohalla wali team.
what do you all think ???
I guess you spoke your mind here... LOlz.. But yea, very truly said that Hafeez is like the********* opener we ever had. I still can't understand that when He batted for about 25 balls, what in the heck made him play that awkward shot?
Umer
^Lol, yes, he did play irresponsibly. It's like having Afridi's bachay in the team.
I hope to God he isn't dropped and Hafeez remains. I will really lose it then.
Hafeez is perhaps the shi##est opener Pakistan ever produced. Bowls handy offspin, but what the hell is he doing as an opener?
He wouldn't make it as a no.9 for any other respectable team.
Imran Nazir is just a lost brother of Afridi. Pak team management after moving Afridi down the order repeated the same mistake by bringing Imran to open. Its the same gamble as playing Afridi in the top order. If he clicks , he wins u the match , if he doesnt you are done!
Where those Pakistani idiot fans who were calling for his inclusion for the last three years...Imran Nazir this Imran Nazir that...
Even Afridi is more reliable then Imran Nazir...
They are still here, and they are still telling us that we have a 'second Afridi' in our team (I consider that a problem in itself, not a solution). For all we know, Imran Nazir may hit three centuries in a row and silence us (I pray that he does), but that shouldn't mean he was the rigth choice in the long run. This is a selection based solely on "runs" he made in recent domestic games as opposed to 'how those runs were made." I saw Imran playing in both 2005 and 2006 20/20 tournament and I was shocked that people considered him a batsman let alone an opener. He's a a true slogger who likes to whack the ball across the line (yeah, those weren't PULL shots everybody was raving about in that innings against South Africa, they were 'whacks' that paid off ).
We don't need a super star slogger to open the innings. WE just need someone who can hang around for about 10/15 overs. Pick any 'Batsman' from the domestic cricket, forget how fast or slow he gets his scores. Any run-rate is faster than a 'fall of wicket'.

That's like expecting Bermuda to beat Australia...Anybody with common sense, who saw his top edged sixes and inside edged fours in both the ABN AMRO 20/20 cup and his first match in the ODI fold, would have know that he is a lapaarra...He won't be scoring another fifty for sometime, I would be a little surprised even if he manages one against the minnows...
But Pakistani fans, particularly those from punjab are infatuated with hitters...anybody who can hit the biggest six is considered the best batsman in Lahore...
After one bad match against West Indies, apparently the whole team selection is now up for discussion... I want to focus only on opening, and so let me put it out simply...
Please tell me the difference between them. Replace anyone with the other, and you still get a score of 35-2? And thats on a good day. On a bad day its 15-3.
They all the same.. All given handful of opportunities but none capitalized.
I still believe, Salman Butt will another go after the WC. He is still young. around 23-24 i guess. Imran Nazir is a flop to me. Yasir did played well in 2006 but he was unlucky not be selected for the WC. I dont think Taufeeq will another chance soon. same goes for imran farhat
Yousuf is a focussed batsman with Afridi to hit from other end.
Even Dravid opens for India when situation demands....I think in this situation when Pakitsan is facing a real problem with opening, that's the way to consolidate an opening partnership.
