Re: What is haram di kamai?
Ok thanks, so you would like to know what was offensive to me atleast was the sweeping statement that implied all believing muslims were stuck in the past, if that was so then there would not be any practicing Muslim studying modern Science and Tech!
Re: What is haram di kamai?
If you try to shoehorn principles from a religious text made in a certain time period into your 21st century life where they do not belong or are not practical then you are mentally stuck in the past. Doesn’t matter if you are studying to be a doctor or have a passion for robotics.
Re: What is haram di kamai?
Strangely, there was no advice in the above mentioned post. It was simply a derogatory comment towards practicing Muslims even though the topic was not at all controversial.
Re: What is haram di kamai?
My “derogatory” comment got to the root of her problems. Instead of doing the absolute most to find translations of verses in the Qu’ran that might or might not support her aspirations to be on that app or whatever, she can talk things out with her husband using objective facts and realities. Muhammed was not able to predict all the things that came about in the 21st century, and she seems to be in a tight space regarding economics and wants to be at home with her baby. I’m not exactly cosigning her being on the app or whatever, the point is that sometimes trying to your life according to principles that were made centuries ago is not practical all the time.
Re: What is haram di kamai?
Except for the fact that she wanted to know from an Islamic (7th century religion as you put it)
Perspective. Who are you or I to decide whether she should choose to live by Islam, Christianity, Judaism or atheism? Live and let live.
Re: What is haram di kamai?
She is the one looking for advice on how to support her potential choices with religion. I gave my two cents cause this is a public forum and sometimes you are going to have to think outside of the box to find a solution. It is her decision in the end if she wants to go through with being on the app or not and how she wants to justify it. I am not “deciding” anything for her.
Re: What is haram di kamai?
A religious scholor can guide you better on haram and halal means of income. However, from the look of it, to me it doesn’t look halal since you mentioned that people make money talking to opposite gender. In Islam, unnecessary talking to opposite gender who are namehram is forbidden.
On your question on conducting a game show, you can check from the scholar if that’s halal or haram.
Re: What is haram di kamai?
Finding solutions doesn’t mean start finding it outside religion ! What kind of muslim household you were grown up ?
Re: What is haram di kamai?
This whole post is derogatory towards Muslims. I guess, mods are fast asleep like always..
Next time do not mention the name of Muhammad (PBUH) @IsaidwhatIsaid …
Re: What is haram di kamai?
Religious people are so sensitive. How is pointing out the fact that he or any religious leader from centuries ago could not have predicted the modern world and the problems that came from it?
Re: What is haram di kamai?
A Muslim household that taught me critical thinking.
Re: What is haram di kamai?
Teachings of modern times talk about being sensitive to others and not crossing boundaries. Whereas you deliberately chose to talk in a way that is derogatory to the practicing Muslims.
@NaanGuard had once posted a blog in which he mentioned Shiva and @Southie found it derogatory. Even though what NaanGuard had done was unintentional, he immediately edited the post taking care of Southie’s sensitivities.
Having a different opinion is never the problem. The problem is being insensitive to others sensitivities.
Re: What is haram di kamai?
I think this thread is taking wrong turns. If someone is here to slam a religion only this is not the right forum. If there are any other religious factors to be discussed there is a separate section Religion & Philosophy to open a thread in.
Lets stick to OP’s problems and provide the best solution instead of doing a generalization and bashing someone’s faith and offend them.
Re: What is haram di kamai?
You people are really acting like I said religious people are idiots and that people ditch Islam completely. I pointed out the objective reality that religions from centuries ago do not necessarily have the answers to modern day issues. If y’all think that is “derogatory” then that is y’all’s problem.
Re: What is haram di kamai?
Lol, Prophet ( PBUH ) delivered the msg of ALLAH , HE did not add or subtract anything at his personal will. Quran is the word of ALLAH, not the word of any Prophet. Are you trying to say that ALLAH did not know what’s going to come or happen in future specially in 21st century ? Definitely ISLAM and its laws are in line with nature and science and we can practice it in any era and age . It’s just that seculars and atheists like you have built up your life style on animal instincts and now you see ISLAM and its laws a big obstacle in your way…
I am not here to prove the authenticity of Ismlaic laws or Quran, what i am saying is, check your tone before uttering words on this forum.. You can speak your heart out but there is a way to say things over here. This is not your abbaji’s house. You can not go around mentioning the names of Prophets in a ridiculous way..
Re: What is haram di kamai?
OP you yourself said you are doing a full time job, babysitting part time & on top of that you just had a new born then I don’t know why you want to go for something like this where income is doubtful, which will create trouble in your relationship & you dont even have time for that it seems like it. Its good that you are future planning & want to save some money but you are in the present & think about your present right now where you have a newborn to take care of which should be your priority. It doesnt seem halal to me though by the looks of it.
Re: What is haram di kamai?
OP asked for religious guidance hence people giving their opinions, if you don’t know anything then SHUT UP & refrain from posting in such threads & keep your ignorance to yourself.
Re: What is haram di kamai?
Hidden question in your post… you are asking if it is okay to earn money like this… Your husband’s embedded values are somehow not in favor…
Though some girls from India and Bangladesh… appear in skimpy clothes… and show live… This may be a turn off… while site still prohibit nudity…
Said website is not paid porn… but its method similar…
You are married.. you have a family… you deliver a baby.. your hormones are not balance… You are in PPD… your financial insecurity is triggered by your new born baby. Take your time… calm down…
Re: What is haram di kamai?
The religion was established in 7th Century and for non-Muslims Muhammad is just a man. Therefore, he could not have foreseen a lot of stuff that’s happening today just like I can’t foresee what’ll happen a thousand years from now. That said, the comment, though not offensive, doesn’t really help the OP. The reason you’re getting so much flak for it is because folks perusing the Relationships section don’t care much for discussing religion. I think you’ll find a more receptive audience in Religion & Philosophy.
Not discussing religion is the best bet though. For example, the real problem here is that OP’s husband isn’t comfortable with her pursuing this line of work. He doesn’t think it’s Haram. He’s just not comfortable with the idea. She has several options here depending on the health of her relationship.
That’s my two cents.
