What is haram di kamai?

So the title says it all really? What is considered to be haram when making a living?

I ask this as something has been on my mind lately… and I’m not sure if I was to do such a thing it would be haram or not… it’s not exactly simple when my husband is giving me mixed messages…

The thing is, there’s this site I’ve come across, there’s mainly Pakistanis, Bengali’s and Indians on there. It’s a live chat app. You chat to random strangers and they give you gifts in return if they like your shows, these gifts are then exchanged into beans and the beans are turned into real money, there is a girl on there who has made £9000!

Most of the popular lives broadcasts are from girls and the watchers are mainly guys, the girls can do “shows” where they sing or dance for the viewers… there is no nudity allowed and if court your account gets banned however many girls can be seen in skimpy clothes…

Girls from Pakistan mostly cover there face or show only half there face or only there hand and just talk talk talk to random guys picking up calls and talking, many girls are on there for 6-9 hours straight!!!

I showed my husband and he said he doesn’t like it for me but he doesn’t she the girls as doing haram!! if it’s not haram then why I can’t do it???

Is this a haram living??? He said if I do this then later on I will be embarrassed infront of my children for doing such things… but then I said that he said he thought the girls on there were NOT doing haram…

I don’t wanna do this to chat to guys I wanna do this to make some money… one kushra from Pakistan does a game show thing, I was thinking of doing something similar…

I feel it’s only haram di kamai for me because he doesn’t want me to do it!
I feel like his being overly passive with me and I told him that too, but he said his “looking out for me!”
I’ve just had a newborn and my emotions are everywhere, I want to make money and save for my own place… I feel helpless and just want a better life and don’t want to miss any opportunity!
The app is not that popular in uk so if I was to join now I would be one of the popular ones when and if the app takes of here…
Should I just go for it…?
As long as it’s not haram? But what is haram??? Actuall definition wise?

Please no judingful comments… thank you.

Re: What is haram di kamai?

It is not right thing to do , you can make money by starting tuition for girls or kids

Re: What is haram di kamai?

Haram is something which Allah has forbidden and there is a whole list of it , you should seek proper islamic guidence and you will know yourself ! There are many other respectful ways to earn a living where your skill matters alot not your body or voice ..

Re: What is haram di kamai?

I already do babysitting around my area as part time and I work full time with learning disablitties and disabled children at a foster care centre as a case worker in a government job! But I just feel lost at the moment :frowning:

Re: What is haram di kamai?

I am new to Islam and somtimes find it hard to grasp some rules that Islam permittes, this is beacouse as a child I was raised in a non religious way… now I’m married to a Muslim I want to be a respectful person, however when I see other muslims doing things I feel maybe it’s ok… we live in a society where these things are becoming the norm, it’s hard to figure out what is wrong or right any more, it’s a let live and live sort of century…

Re: What is haram di kamai?

We as a muslim are not suppose to follow other muslims , we refer to quran , hadith and you can even consult your husband , as far as money making is concerned most of the quick money making options involve either fraudulent activities or violation of modesty and they are forbidden , in my opinion you should learn about your new religion because islam provides guidence on every step and it will be very helpful for you

Re: What is haram di kamai?

Do you want money or do you need money? Is your husband not making enough to support you and your baby?

Re: What is haram di kamai?

He has a spending problem, he never saves, Ive asked him to put direct debit £300 into my account every month so I can save it but he doesn’t even do that… I’m fed up with it… he makes ok money but with his spending it’s getting bad…he goes out every weekend and spends lots of money on friends, last time he took his friend out to Nando’s then took them cinima and watched two films with ice cream and popcorn all paid by himself!!!

I just feel fed up!

Re: What is haram di kamai?

Than it’s a communication problem , things are not always straight we might have to put effort into it , I am not saying negative about you or your relation but my point is communicate with him about the financial problems and make him understand that a married life has its own challenges and it requires a full fledged commitment to wife and kids , friends are also important but they come later and that his family is not in position to spend unnecessarily on friends !! Be persistent and you can also give him examples from life of prophet PBUH how he took care of matters as a man , it Will surly help him to understand his responsibilities towards house and expenses .

Re: What is haram di kamai?

Their get money for talking to na mehrams 6 to 7 hrs straight? Does not that just sound haram.

Can you study further? Part time study if full time is too much atm. You wont be making money right away but you might end up making more thorough a more rewarding way in the long run.

Sell clothes from home? Do short courses maybe childcare? If your a science person pathology? If not then business admin? Part time reception jobs? Customer service jobs? Retail?

Dont do this. In my opinion its kinda deogatory it just does not sound right. There are better jobs where you can make money and that will also be rewarding . Owning a house is nice and all but really so is making money through a means that benifts others and makes you feel like your making a difference for society at large.
As judgmental as that paragraph sounds i think you will be embrassed the money might make up for it but really i am sure there are other ways of making money where its not all about the money nor is it embrassing.
Religously, i dont see how this would be allowed in shariah i think its straight out disobeying Allah . Freemixing to such an extend is not halal. Is the money haram? For that you would have to speak to someone who understands islam really well, try your local masjid.

Re: What is haram di kamai?

The day people stop using a religion established in the 7th century to guide them through modern day problems that Muhammad wouldn’t even have thought of is going to be great.

Re: What is haram di kamai?

You should not comment on things that you don’t have any clue about.

Re: What is haram di kamai?

What do I not have any clue about then?

Re: What is haram di kamai?

I am not in the habit of arguing with people for the sake of argument so I’d leave it at that. Your comment was totally ignorant.

Re: What is haram di kamai?

Yes, pointing out the fact that trying to apply a religion made in the 7th century to each and every one of your 21st century problems is not always practical is ignorant. Thanks sis!

Re: What is haram di kamai?

Don’t you realize you just made a very negative comment about Islam and on top of that you being so coy about it :nono:

Re: What is haram di kamai?

How is pointing out the reality that religions, any of them, that were established in a completely different time will not have the best answers for problems in a later time some kind of horrible negative thing?

Re: What is haram di kamai?

You seem to be from south India correct?

also I assume not a Muslim? so like the guy said you have No knowledge of what you are passing comment on!

Re: What is haram di kamai?

Sis, where did you even get the assumption I am South Indian? I’m Pakistani Punjabi and I grew up in a Muslim household. I consider myself an agnostic Muslim. Now tell me, what do I not understand?

Re: What is haram di kamai?

^OK! UsaidwhatUsaid  how old are you? and what was your field of study in School/College so at least I want to know a little bit about you before I pass any further critique on your statements if you don’t mind telling me?
