Re: What is a "good" salary?
Cost of MA in the US for intl student seems to hover around that £15-20 K mark for a tier 3/4 school as per US News rankings profiles. That's next amount of money. For a good school (georgetown has a program I'd love to do), but costs incured would be at 20-30K £ inc. cost of living in all these sums.
Just dont have that sort of paper yet.
Unless you know of any scholarships etc.
May do a 2nd MA (hopefully) stateside once I get one from here.
not schoarships but graduate and research assistantships which in some cases pay for all your costs and provide a stipend, or at minimum reduce your out of pocket expense considerably.
Re: What is a "good" salary?
You got me completely wrong, there are plenty of good charities I can go and donate your money to.
these are well known organizations as well, so its not like I will give it to soem fake charity. These organizations are global and benefit tens of thousands of people who depend on them for their survival.
You may have heard of some of these organizations as well. here is a list
Giorgio Armani Prada Patek Philippe Coach Burberry
etc.
Any charity organization always have their commission before the money are given out the the needy people regardless of how big the amount will be. I assume by the time you collect say about 100k atleast 15-20% they keep, (just any amount they collect) name sake is charity organization, please donate????
Re: What is a "good" salary?
Exactly!
UK is a rip off. That's why once I get my MA (hopefully) or have some assetts, I'm of to America, or Canada or somewhere else.
UK is for sure very expensive, but still people perfer UK why is it so??????????
Re: What is a "good" salary?
You only live once. My reason for living is to enjoy myself.
Imagine if you have to live twice then what?
Re: What is a "good" salary?
They are easy(ish) to land?
nope, very tough. depends on uni and program. if you want a good assistantshi at a top program, you will be going up against some tough competition.

not everyone prefers UK. many desis do because of the sheer number of desis there. others do because they like the social system that they take advantage of, subsidized housing, living on the dole, free this and that.

Is there any such thing as a fee waiver or partial scholarship. I had an Indian mate who did his MSc here, and he got a £2000 fee reduction type scholarship.
Does that exist there?
Re: What is a "good" salary?
yup there are full and partial scholarships as well, u just have to look and see.
lets just say if freshies from India and Pakistan and China and all can come to US on full ride scholarships and assistantships, why cant you? if you have the goods.
Re: What is a "good" salary?
sage point. I had to watch Dispatches: Military v Mullahs about Pakistan with Ziauddin Sardar on c4. Excellent program. I feel for Mushy cos the alternative is something I hate, but truly democracy needs to return.

Re: What is a "good" salary?
A good salary is what the person whom you hate but your parents consider a perfect son makes.
Re: What is a "good" salary?
