Re: What I Thought and What happened

How missed the most important detail , how old are you now ? :naraz: If you share that info. then I will share my realities otherwise I will not.

Re: What I Thought and What happened

i hope your realties are not R-18...:D

Re: What I Thought and What happened

I am at a age where my realities would be three R-18. :D .
In some cases it helps to know the age of the person to provide age appropriate advice.
I cannot advice a 80 years old bloke to get married and enjoy life. Right ?

Re: What I Thought and What happened

i'm silver jubilee+

Re: What I Thought and What happened

Then you are not too late. There is still hope for you to realize your dreams. Just make a plan and follow it through.

Re: What I Thought and What happened

What age is that? :hoonh:

And WHy can’t a 80 years old bloke to get married and enjoy life?! :snooty:

Re: What I Thought and What happened

You just said age does not matter. Then why it matters what age is that. :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: What I Thought and What happened

I used to fight with cousins and brothers and was always teasing them… then Allah took many of them away from me and now I weep sometimes in memory.

I never thought I would ever be in the career I’m in now… The rest is too painfull. :teary2:

Re: What I Thought and What happened

Smaart.

Re: What I Thought and What happened

i wanted to be doctor, a good husband and a good father of 3 dozen kids [hehe]. i made it to the med school then was kicked out. i'm 31 and still unmarried with no kids haha...but, thanks to Allah, i achieved what i wanted to be [a doctor] except that now treat plants rather than humans. Allah saved so many lives that wud've been lost at my hands if i ever became a doctor. i'm now a "glorified mali (gardener)" [Horticulturist].

Re: What I Thought and What happened

I thought by now I'd be married with a child, whilst working as a teacher (a bit like Miss Honey from Matilda), and all this whilst looking super glamorous and travelling all over the world, haha.

It's funny how your life takes a different path to what you dreamed of... But that's not necessarily a bad thing....

Re: What I Thought and What happened

At 18 I thought I would be one of those who would marry early.
At 24 I still haven't met the one.

At 18 I thought I'd be pursuing my career in London.
At 22 the financial crisis was in full swing and I returned to Pakistan

At 21 I thought I would find my dream job.
At 24 I realised dream jobs don't exist.

loved that book when I was a kid.

Re: What I Thought and What happened

I thought I would be married by 23
Im 28, and will be getting married in 2 months

I thought I would have 3 kids by now
Im 28, not married yet, so no kids yet

I wanted to be a housewife
Not married, and dont want to depend on my father to support me, so I work in Human Resources, even though there were so many other things I would have much rather done.

I wanted to be a dentist, wasnt good at sciences
I wanted to be a social worker, peer pressure made me turn away from that
I wanted to be a cake decorator, got too lazy to continue classes

I thought I would travel to exotic places around the world
The only places I have been to are Canada (cause I live here), USA, and Pakistan

Even though my life hasnt turned out how I wanted or expected, Im happy with what Allah has given me.

Re: What I Thought and What happened

I thought that I was going to change the world (by doing something good) but I ended up working in Finance.

I thought that I would be spending 3 months out of the year traveling, I can barely do one month these days.

I thought that I would move back home (Europe) after finishing college and yet I am still here.

I never that I'd have a large social circle, but I ended up having one.

I thought that I would be closer to my best friend, but we ended up drifting apart.

I thought I would have done the Hajj by now, but I still haven't.

But it's OK, I'll get it poppin ;)
