Re: what gifts to take to pakistan for ur relatives

fazeelat arent u already in pakistan? :S

foreign exotic sweets or chocolates are always welcomed...

yes i m in pakistan but generally i bring those type of stuff

Chocolates, nice handbags..for kids I usually take stationary!

Re: what gifts to take to pakistan for ur relatives

dont forget to include shampoo hand and bath gels soaps etc etc ..it sounds silly but ppl over there luv these things
:D

Re: what gifts to take to pakistan for ur relatives

ladies love to have handbags from there for kids they always look for chocolates and candies plus they want toys as always... and for men they prefers formal shirts n ties... as i used to get them for my relatives!!! since i'm in pak now after marriage so i understands it well!!!

Re: what gifts to take to pakistan for ur relatives

nothing, buy them everything from Pakistan, you'll get the same or even better quality for cheap!

Re: what gifts to take to pakistan for ur relatives

^ its not always the cost but the thought that counts...

BUT

Most of us have so many relatives in pakistan that buying everyone a special gift is too much hassle and gets expesnive...even if u buy it from pakistan.
i have a few ideas of what i want to get some of my relatives there, but then i think that person might be hurt that i didn't give them or that one might give her gift to her nasty nands b/c her husband asks her to (errrrrr)...or...u know...whatever.

Re: what gifts to take to pakistan for ur relatives

buy them nothing i agree with that much only cricketplaya xx

Re: what gifts to take to pakistan for ur relatives

Come on! Its not realistic to NOT buy anything. You have to buy small stuff though since now all US domestic flights charge for luggage so if you got a domestic connection you will end up paying $50 for your bags.

I'd hate to admit it but there's a lot of regifting that takes place. I mean its only natural...

T-shirts for boys and make-up or earings etc for girls, bath body stuff for aunties. shirts for uncles and grandpas.

Re: what gifts to take to pakistan for ur relatives

scrubs, fake jewerly (chandlier earrings) - for gals

chocolates for kids

If you have close cousin that is in their teens and fork over some cash - an ipod - they will love you forever

Re: what gifts to take to pakistan for ur relatives

take just the money... and take them to the shopping, now everything is available there that you can think of.

Re: what gifts to take to pakistan for ur relatives

I vote for purses!! They are light wieght, can be bought at great deals on sales and quality is generrally speaking better than the ones there. I wouldn't recomeend lotions and shampoos etc as though they can be less expensive to buy and people over there love them they are heavy and can leak (I have duct tape each item) . Shoes are alo loved but hevay weight.Nowadays its alla bout the baggage allowance.i do take chocolates but even these are heavy. You can also take perfumes, cosmetics like lipsticks etc and watches, besides kids clothes. Impressive items at allkinds of prices and light weight. Men like after shaves, cologne, shirts and sweaters and light weight jackets.

Re: what gifts to take to pakistan for ur relatives

I am in the same dilemma and I go to Pak quite frequently. You cannot buy the same things for the same people again and again and men are the most diff. people to buy stuff for. I have already got them perfume, sweaters, shoes, shirts, ties, watches and games. What else can you buy?? When I go in January, im just going to buy my mother in laww a winter coat and probably a handbag and the boys an MP3 player? What do you guyz think? Is it OK to buy brothers the same thing?

Re: what gifts to take to pakistan for ur relatives

everytime i ask anyone in pak what they want from US, they answer 'saab kuch mil jaata hai' it's really getting on my nerves! can't they ever just give a simple answer!

that's a hint for "sab kuch chaye hamay"

You're lucky - when we ask the same to our relatives in India we get absurd 'demands' not even ideas......

You know - they have asked my mum for everything from the latest mobiles, latest top of the range digital camera's, designer watches, GOLD jewellery...............

I have only ever been twice - but each time I go/hubby goes, I tend to send for girls; handbags with earrings/costume jewleery/makeup inside. For the lads t-shirts as they are lightweight, perfume or good outdoor style sandals. We have decided recently to go with the rule - if they have young kids clothes etc for the kids and only something small for parents.

Uncle's - Shirts/wallets
Aunties - Perfume/lotions/kitchen gadgets

I tend to buy around the year and then have it already when we go/hubby goes/mum goes/we send a parcel!

Anyway - that's my 2p worth - I'm not the best person to comment on this as I tend to rant!!!!!!

Hahahaha. I laughed like a lunatic at your post. Funny. Bye.
