Well I'm planning to make him a painting and a photo monage of our engaged years to show on the wedding...but my parents will be taking care of the designer watch and shalwar kameezain, and kapra for the MIL and SIL...
how about the latest gadget like PDA/cool phone/PSP type thing?
Some things are so typical, but also liked at the same time.
My parents got like clothes, dress shirts/pants/ties...etc...and haha they also got the cheesy expensive pen and a watch...etc...hehe.
Yeah in our family, the guy's family...like mother/sister/bro get nice decent gifts as well. My MIL got bangles, his babhi got some gold thingy...i dunno
and the other extended family got outfits...
for some reason i dont agree with all that stuff....but its a tradition and parents just had to do it.....jeez!!!
This is a good question because it always seems like men get the short end of the stick, in this area! But, I think their stuff is usually quality over quantity. My parents gave my hub a 3,000 dollar baume and mercier watch, a 2,000 dollar Armani suit, a few other random clothes, wedding band and cash. For our engagement, I bought him a set of cufflinks. Women definitely get more fun stuff!
im doing boring stuff, got him a lovely watch which im gna get engraved, but we have decided to get our wedding rings in dubai after we have been to the maldives and get them engraved whilst there, kinda sentimental xxxx
we got a set of matching watches for the engagement, and for the wedding, he got a big ass "salaami" from my folks. he also got his mehendi shalwar kameez, as did his groomsmen.
i gave him little silver cufflinks in the shape of retro robots since he loves sci-fi and AI, and he wore them at the wedding with this tux.
yup, guys get salaami too, which can be anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars! this is on top of other small gifts (shirts/clothes, cologne, designer watch, cufflinks, ring, etc.).
well we’r giving perfume gold bracelet and ring cloths including shirts suits and sherwani or whatever he’s going to wear on that day is that enough
cuz i think its too much
Okay sigh they get plenty..!! Ugh his family just wants to give me the ring..my folks insist he get one too. He doesn't want to wear a sherwani..he wants to wear a suit for both days! And i'm out of energy and convincing powers too!
