Luton Town.
Likes:
-We have the least amount of Rainfall in all of UK.
-The Diversity and the harmony that exists between the different
communities, (Racism is nearly non existent)
- We have the biggest One day carnival in the UK.
Dislikes
- Traffic can be murder, this is due to the M1, wich runs along Luton, and bad traffic management. So we get alot of roadworks.
- High crime in some areas.
- Not enough greenery, parks etc.

Likes:
So many things to see and do. All the tourist attractions and free museums/art galleries etc.
Public transport, normally reliable unless it happens to snow.
Can go to university but still come home in the evening.
Dislikes:
Expensive, especially public transport when you are travelling from zone 6 to zone 1.
Weather. Sometimes its raining, then snowing, then boiling hot and then raining again.
*]Can feel unsafe, but only on very rare occassions, like when there is a weirdo behind you on an escalator.

(1) Mumbai
Loves: Everything from eating, shopping, masti, cricket, FESTIVALs, chaotic conditions, languages.....so on....and on...and on
Hates : not anything really....in fact accustomed to everything.
(2) Allahabad (a small city in U.P.)
Loves: Rivers and River banks, educational institutions (Allahabad also has India's oldest university), the milk tea with ginger, mouth watering north Indian dishes (missing Bati Chokha).
Hates: poor infrastructure-particularly roads, lack of well organized road transport.
(3) Doha, Qatar
Loves: Nothing!
Hates: Attitude of local Qataris....they really suck!

yeah cold is bad, i think extreme temperature of any type is bad. However with cold you can add a few layers, when its boiling like it is in Dallas, there is only so much you can take off.
the whole strapping in car seats business is true for anywhere. and I dunno how many layers you are talking about. one of those heavy duty, gap overalls and jacket with a hood works, takes a minute to put on and a minute to take off. not a bad price for living in a real city.
dallas has cheap housing, if you have the money you can buy anything anywhere. so people bring in examples of plano and what nots. and forget that Chicago has places like Barrington, and lake forest, and bannockburn etc.
so yep, if its cheap housing that is a consideration, dallas scores way above chicago, however, po dunk ville, mississipi may be cheaper than dallas
first of all the list if not of universities in dallas alone, UNT is denton
secondly, please dont compare chicago to dallas in terms of universities.
so here is a really quick analysis of universities in both cities and where they are ranked. and since you went a few hours out of dallas like to UT-austin. i took the liberty of picking some unis that are a few hrs drive from chicago.

plus those that are not in chicago but a few hrs drive

so houston is better than dallas, since i believe rice is there, but no uni in dallas comes close to U of chicago or Northwestern, and if we start looking at unis a stone’s throw away, chicago still has better options.
and among the most boring
ahhh so its just a temporary stop on the way to a real place like california That I can understand. If I have a choice and I have t leave chicago, I would go to NYC, MD-VA, BAY Area, LA, etc.

“not to say that where ever u guys r is bad or anything…but for us Dallas worked out better then Chicago. I do miss it, its a beautiful city and the museum, its amazing, but needless to say that we r glad we moved.For visiting Chicago/Ny is great, but for living..well we like this city.Again all that is dependent on what you really want from a city you reside in…the pros and cons as to your own personal preferences and needs.For us, we moved because it was more important for us Family wise… and pros far out numbered the cons…”

hey man, its very easy, justtakes a few keystrokes to do metro comparison.
I have no issues with dallas, I eve said its in the top 10 list of cities I would not mind living in.
but when someone says dallas has better universities that chicago, then I have to correct that, as public service

Karachiite to the core...I have a love hate relationship with this city.
1: pollution (kala dhuaan), Uff, the amount of lead that we inhale.
2: dumps of debris littering the streets and thrown on the vacant plots ( I wish I can head KMC someday)
3: battered roads (dumps and pot holes make your life miserable. One needs really good shock absorbers)
4: traffic jam (this is new to the metropolis, guess the idea of leasing the cars on easier terms didn't do much good and only augmented our problems).
5: waqt bay wat bijli ke ankh micholi, the load shedding during the summers can be a nuisance.

The weather here is Puuurrrfect today…and I am not sarrhing…thank u very much…As I said I can take hotter days to the cold freezing ones any time. Sunny weather over the dark gloomy ones anyday…Thats just me:D…Again we have our own priorities…nothing wrong with that…
We r planning to visit Chicago this summer…and oh yes , we will pack our Jackets:halo:
