Weight Watchers...
Ooh that sounds yum!! I am making fajitas today so ill try this recipe
Re: Weight Watchers...
Yeah I think we need an official start date... There is so so much information about WW online, even if you guys don't have the WW resources, just google it. There are so many websites dedicated to this.
So sine Reha started this, lets see what date she suggest for starting this diet.
Hey Spiral!
Okay my suggestion is not to start on a Monday because that rarely works. Do you guys want to start on Monday though?
I think we should start on the 15th of this month.
Re: Weight Watchers...
About desi food, WW has chicken curry in there along with lamb curry. I used the lamb curry points if I ate mutton. I guess you might do that with beef too. There might be beef curry in there too, haven;t checked. Just measure 1 cup or 1/2 cup curry in a measuring cup and jot down the points. It worked for me. Also, there is a tool where you can plug in the nutritional info of any food and get the point value for that. I have found nutritional info for foods online such as nihari, gulab jamanand kheer. Just google it. I did manage to lose weight while doing that.
Re: Weight Watchers…
ok so what we actually have to do??
only control our diet??
Re: Weight Watchers...
15 sounds good. That way we can see our results on July 15 .. right before Ramadan starts. I think everyone should do this for at least a month before deciding if it worked for them or not.. and really stick to it. So lets decide today what time we want to chat tomorrow. I tried another recipe yesterday from the WW book.. I'll post the pic soon.
Re: Weight Watchers…
You have to control your diet not just in the conventional way where you eat less bread or something else.
WW had a point system and if you follow the point system…you can do it yourself rather than attend meetings and do that whole bit.
I agree! Okay, so it starts tomorrow then.
We have different time zones…are we using WhatsApp or are we using GS Chat for our meetings?
Also, are we listing our daily intake of food so we have some sense of accountability? I think we should.
Re: Weight Watchers...
I'M IN!!! I like the idea if using WhatsApp
Weight Watchers...
Yep whatsapp works for me!!!! Can we exchange the info in a pm???
You know what pls count me in as well. I am sure I can figure out the points for yakhni and haldi wala doodh that I am drinking these days
^ oh never mind I can't join yet. I need to wait at least 6 weeks before I can start any diet program
Re: Weight Watchers...
This is one of my favorite recipes from the book:
Chicken and Bell Pepper Fajitas 2 tbs lime juice 1 tbs reduced sodium-soya sauce 1/2 tsp chilli powder 1/2 tsp ground cumin pinch red pepper flakes 3/4 pound skinless boneless chiken breast, cut into thin strips 4 tsp canola oil 1 green bell pepper, cut into thin strips 1 red bell pepper, cut into thin strips 1 onion, thinly sliced 4 (6inch) fat-free tortillas, warmed 1/2 cup salsa 1/4 cup fat-free sour cream
Marinade: combine lime juice, soy sauce, chilli powder, cumin and pepper flakes in large zip-close plastic bag; add chicken. Refrigerate, turning bag ocasionally, at least 2 hours or up to overnight. Remove chicken from marinade, discard marinade.
Heat 2 tsp of oil in a large non stick skillet over medium heat. Add bell peppers and onion, cook, stirring until soft, about 5 mins adding 1 or 2 tbsp of water if skillet becomes dry. Transfer to plate, keep warm
Increase heat to medium-high. Add remaing 2 tsp oil in skillet. Add chicken and cook, stirring, until cooked through, about 5 mins.
Place tortillas on work surface; top each with one-fourth of chicken and vegetable. Roll up tortillas to enclose filling. Serve with Salsa and Sour cream.
Per serving (1 Fajita, 2 tbps salsa and 1 tbps sour cream) 6 points..
I use this for vegetable rather than cutting it all...
I also don't care for salsa and sour cream so I leave that out and I don't make a wrap.. just eat it desi style like you eat salan with roti
^ great recipe! i made it for dinner and it turned out really good. one thing to mention- this recipe doesnt have any salt added, so it is pheeka. i added a dash of garlic salt and it was delishhhhhhhhussssss :)
Re: Weight Watchers...
no whatsapp guyz i dont have it :(
Re: Weight Watchers...
If you have a smart-phone (Apple, Android, BlackBerry, or Windows), you can download whatsapp and follow the step by step set up.
I think that's a great idea. Who's going to be hosting the chat?
Re: Weight Watchers…
I don’t know much about Whatapp too. I think we’ll have to exchange phone numbers for it?? And can we do a conference chat thing?
Nabz… I forgot to mention I think I added a pinch of salt too. But yeah that recipe is so easy and so good.
This is another recipe I tried. I made some changes to it but its super easy… Its called Cheese stuffed burgers…

Re: Weight Watchers...
looks good. but that much white bread is only good for gaining weight :/
Re: Weight Watchers...
I knew someone would say that... The only change i made to this recipe was just that. Didnt use English muffin... I had that bun in my fridge... But this is 10 pts... A whole big meal.
Weight Watchers...
U can eat whitw bread in ww but you have to stay between your point limit so this way u get to eat without depriving yourself
Re: Weight Watchers...
oic. i don't eat it at all anymore and i don't miss it.
Weight Watchers...
Yea but they are actually making healthier choices less in point and so ppl would choose them over regular stuff.
