I tried WW.. this year and honestly you do lose weight.. fast too. I even have their recipe book. I kinda fell off track. Thing with WW is that its hard for us desis to do this with the kind of food we eat. Meetings help a lot. Its not cheap though. I do have all the material needed for WW. If you don't want to pay I can tell you how it works and you can pretty much do it on your own.. minus the meetings.
You read my mind!!! I’ve been struggling with ping-pong’ing between weights/sizes..it’s getting ridiculous! I tried weight watchers online last year…it was not expensive, however, I agree with Spiral that it was hard to determine “points” for alot of our desi foods, so I just got lazy and gave up after the initial 3 month offer.
I have not tried meetings, so maybe that helps more with accountablility?
Research shows that in the long run, WW is the most effective in teaching long term habits/lifestyle changes and most people are able to keep the weight off for good. Just look at Jennifer Hudson…yowzah!!!
I have been toying around with trying Medifast also, to give myself a jumpstart…dunno yet.
And ray-ray…like your cheeks, my ghetto booty/hips ain’t going anywhere!! They were there pre- bachay when I was a size 2, and still here now!

They have a pocket book with everything and its points. Everything has points.. yes.. everything.. well except most fruits and most veggies.... Even oil has points.. You can absolutely make your own meals as long as you stay within your points. So lets say you are making qorma.. two tsp oil will be 4 points.. and then chicken will have some points.. etc. So as long as you stay within your point limits you can eat everything... But lets say you are given 26 points.. umm 2 tsp oil has 4 points so you can't really eat a lot.. lol. You can eat as much fruis and veggies as you want.. raw that is.. salads are good. Its very easy.. Even if you aren't counting points and go by the whole big pic.. i.e more fruits and veggies.. no oil.. limites sweets. You can do this on your own. I did go to the meetings and personally I think I lost more weight going to the meeting then not going.. I can type few things here from the material I have.. And you can try this on your own for two weeks and see if it works for you.. then pay. I have their recipe binder too.

WW 2012 has new program called Poins plus.. not much of a difference but you are allowed more fruits and veggies than simple WW program in the past.

I have been tracking my cals and exercise and have lost about 3.5 kgs in 10 days...I obviously know some of it is water weight but the rest must be fat since I am noticing some inches off..and its free!! you just got to log in everything you eat...
I just joined myfitnesspal today!!! I’m so excited. I feel SUPER motivated reading all of these blog entries and the message board. Healthy life… Here I come!
^^ Yeah I have that too on my phone. But if you are doing WW, its by points not calories. So you'll need to write everythiing you are eating and how many points it has.. and then end of the day .. add all the points.
Oh and to answer Reha's question. Best thing is to make your own food because you get into a habit of making healthy, low-points meals but I did eat a lot of frozen meals too. My fav. Santa Fe Rice and Beans.. has 8 points :D. A lot of their stuff you can't eat. They also have bread.. brown bread, cakes. In meetings they tell you how to use your points.. basically make the most out of it. You can have 1" cube cream cheese on bagel which is about 7 points.. or you can have two slices of brown bread with an egg (no oil) and an apple which is 5 points.
All fruits have 0 points.. not dried. Fresh or frozen with no addes sugar
All veggies have 0 points.. again not dried. But no potato
Chicken Biryani (1cup)- 11 Points
Bread- Whole Wheat (2 slices)- 3 points
Butter light (2 tsp) - 1 point
Chicken breast without skin (3 oz) - 3 points
Black coffee without sugar - 0 points
Egg (1 whole)- 2 points
Egg whites (3) - 1 point
Oil - any kind (1 tsp) - 1 point
If, we have more people doing this, I’ll type a recipe a day warna time waste ho ga
You'll need cups and spoons measurements .. its good to have a kichen/food scale too. But I'll write how to measure everything on your own, without cups and spoons.
