^yeh its pretty difficult when you dont know exactly what you want. i think you should look around, there are so many websites where you can look at wedding bands and just browse, hopefully u will like something:
i have a question after seeing n reading this post...
the engagment ring..isnt it supposed to be worn on the right hand? coz the left hand thing is the western/european culture....isnt it like tht or am i wrong?
This exchanging wedding rings on wedding isnt this also a riwaaj of the western/european culture?? there is nothing such like these in our traditions, reethi riwaaj...isnt tht a rasam of gora log?
i dont mean to say tht nobody should wear them no not at all..i am just a bit confused so asked it..no personal attack or something like tht..
the engagement ring is worn on the left hand till the wedding day, when the engagement ring moves to the right hand and in its place u wear the wedding band. however, another way to do it is to wear both the engagement ring and wedding band together on ur ring man on ur left hand. i know a lot of people that do it both ways. i personally like the latter, of wearing both together however, my ring is such that the wedding band would have to be so unique so that it matches the engagement ring. otherwise if i go with soemthing else, i would move my engagement ring to my right and just wear the band on my left.
yes it is a western tradition but it doesnt make it wrong. i like the tradition, specially growing up in NYC, loving diamond rings, i was addicted to engagement ring research 5 years before i got married, before i even knew who i was gonna marry. u dont need to have a ring at ur wedding, but i like the concept thats why i did have it.
The center stone is a 1.7 asscher and it has 106 diamonds around it that weigh 1.06 cts so the TCW is 2.76. I love it! To me though quality mattered much more than the weigh so the cut and polish are excellent clarity is VS1 and color is F.
One of my aunts got an engagement ring with half my budget and all she cared about was weight so she ended up getting princess cut stones that don't sparkle at all. It all depends on what you care for. Do your research before purchasing a diamond because it can be very tricky.
yeah thats true. Im not concerned with karats or price but the only thing is I have been looking online and some rings look beautiful, but are the size or an ant when you see them in person, and arent as sparkly, or it can be vice versa. So i was just wondering. Ring shopping is very frustrating.

now lets see how long it takes me to get sorted and finally get a ring on my finger lol

Hahaha... Sumorani, i'm exactly the same!! Am getting married in the latter part of this yr... and I started looking for engagement rings like 2 yrs ago....
Had a look at that website that has a ring similar to your ring... WOW!!!!! It's AMAZING!!! I'm looking for something unique too.... still deciding.... anything I like is like £100K... haha.... bechaara mera fiance!!!
I got a Tiffanys lucida style platinum engagement ring, with a diamond wedding band to match. Of every style i looked at (and i looked at ALOT) i loved this, it was simple and beautiful. I think huge rings and too many diamonds don’t look nice or classy, but thats just my opinion. I bought my husband a beautiful brushed white gold ring, with our names and date we got engaged engraved on the inside of the ring, with a small diamond too. But it got stolen, at a mosque of all places. I still get upset and angry thinking about it. He had a plain boring band for the wedding which he never wears!

haha yeh but at the same time a big diamond looks gaudy and ostentatious. i tried on a 5 ct. asscher, and while it was stunning, if i were to wear that regularly, it would warrant a lot of unwanted attention. btw, diamond prices have been increasing for over 10 yrs continuously and are expected to decline this yr because of the global decrease in demand due to the world economies. :) but dont expect to see price cuts at designer jewelers, there you probably just wont see an increase but at other places like Kay Jewelers, Whitehall and the likes, they will probably start reducing prices.

Whitehall went out of business down here, but they had an 80% of sale before the closed.
