just wondering what ur wedding rings looked like…i see so many people showing off about how much money they have, spending it all on the wedding etc..but then i see peoples wedding rings and im like ewwwww!
do people not care about it? or is ur wedding ring not one of the most important things that u spend ur money on (wedding wise) as ooposed to like the cake or ivitations or something? just curious!

Well because rings don't have the same significance in our culture that the gora culture does.
Also sometimes those rings are not from the bride to the groom or vice versa but fro the parents to the bride/groom. I have lots of pretty rings from them, from engagement and wedding, so I always wear a different one on my ring finger, just bcause I dnt like having my finger bare and I like it for fashion purposes.. My engagement ring was from them too, and whie it wasnt my favorite style in the world, I still wore it everyday til the wedding.
The ring my parents gave him, is very typical "ewwww" style. He wore it on both wedding days and that's it. They just wouldn't look nice to wear everyday and none of us care whether he wears it or not. It's just not a priority for us; it doesn't mean that others who do wear it have problems...

Well we had matching platinum and white gold wedding bands made. I wear my wedding band with my engagement ring and hubz wears his wedding band. My parents gave him a ring but it didnt fit so he hasnt worn it.
Thing is the wedding bands dont have to b the fanciest or flashiest in the world....its symbolic more than anything else. I havnt taken mine off since i got married and neither has Hubz.

^ my wedding band is going to be made to match my engagement ring. the band on my engagement ring criss-crosses so a plain straight wedding band doesn't look good. i care about the set- why spend so much on one ring and neglect the other! both the fiancé and i are putting a lot of thought into purchasing the right band for the other person since we intend to wear them everyday. :D

I have always worn my wedding and engagement rings - finger feelsweird without the, More recently, I also alternate with wearing the white gold diamond ring that hubby got me for our 5th anniversary. Works well as wedding/engagement rings are yellow gold and this is white gold so can match my silver/white gold jewellery as and when.
Funniest thing happened with the wedding ring we bought for hubby - we got this really nice solid heavyweight silver ring from a specialist jeweller and it cost a bonb - we had civil ceremony 7 months before our nikaah and we exchanged rings at the civil ceremony - between then and the nikkah, hubby lost his wedding ring - and of all places, he says it fell down the toilet!!! Euugh!!!!
So at the nikaah I bought him a cheaper version - he does still wear it everyday though!
None of his mates wear a wedding ring though

funny story
Before getting engaged, I told my fiance that only thing I'm really looking forward to getting is my Engagement ring. I went to so many jewelers to check out rings and half of them weren't even decent and they were asking for $6,000 plus. We found a private certified jeweler and got my ring custom made. Its 2 carats white gold and I always wear it. I also feel naked if I dont wear it. I also wanna get a band once I get married. As for my fiance, he doesn't like wearing rings or watches.....I bought him an expensive watch for the engagement, and he really doesn't wear it.
Plus in our culture you really do not see men wearing a band. Plus Islam says gold is also haram for men...............

I have a channel set wedding ring with a princess cut in the middle and a plain gold wedding band. The ring also has slight white gold accents. Hubs wears a silver wedding band. None of our rings cost a fortune but they are special to us. Hubs wears his always, i used to do teh same but due to pregnancy, my rings dont fit me any more :(

I just got a cheap gold ring and my husband got a sterling silver ring. Total cost of both rings- 120 dollars.
Neither of us wear them lol
