Wedding in Peshawar - HELP!!

Thank you so much for the kind help. I am not from here. I'm Malaysian, trying to marry a man from this gorgeous country of yours. But because he doesn't live here either so we're both stuck. His parents are just so happy we're finally getting married etc. etc. etc. so they really don't care either way.. they just want a fun shadi to party at, and grandkids to call their own! So, I guess it's really up to me to make this work - me while working in Lahore, not speaking a word of Urdu/Pashto.

So thank you for the hall suggestions. BECAUSE this wedding is so much for his parents, I want to have it in the village - They live near Pabbi (bet. Noushera/Peshawar). And because he is their one and only son, everyone who is everyone is invited - meaning, between my family/urban Lahore friends and village-traditional-Pashtun-guests - this is a wedding that has to be BOTH pleasing to the two very very different types of guests!

There will be separation bet. men and women, so we need a female photo/videographer. Because there will be guests from out of town and country, although we won't be using halls, the tent set-up MUST be comfy/pretty for everyone's comfort. We still have yet to decide which guesthouse to house all these out-of-towners, but preferably somewhere close-r to the soon-to-be-found beauty parlor so that between the getting ready/make-up and the commuting to and fro, it wouldn't be too hectic for the poor bride :] even BEFORE the actual shadi.

I like R-Sheen. I got a lovely party jora from there. I saw another suit last week at another wedding that was simply gorgeous from that same store. But I'm thankful I've already had the joras taken care of. I got 3 MOST beautiful dresses from Karma - Just had them fitted TODAY! I FINALLY FEEL the LOve of being an upcoming BRIDE (albeit being alone in my excitement)

so thank you for everything, but could anyone recommend anything else from this list:

  1. female photo/videographer
  2. BEAUTIFUL tent services
  3. OUT-Of-THis-World-Services Beaty Parlor :]

What a coincidence, my in-laws are from nowshera too. In fact - I'm coming over in two weeks time :)

Salam!
I got engaged in peshawar last year. I live abroad, so I have felt your frustration!
I had some parlor lady who was a family friend come to our house for the makeup...just a regular small parlor...she messed up my makeup by painting me white, but Alhamdulillah you couldn't tell, neither in the videos, pictures, or up front, because we had our function outside on the lawn, in an enclosed tent, and the sunlight coming through the tent gave a reddish look inside the tent, so the lighting really offset the makeup and everything looked great.
About the tent services - this was like a miracle for me. My engagement was the day after Eid. And I had only gone to Pak for one week. So the night before Eid, we realize that no one had booked the tent services! And imagine everything closed the night before Eid. Luckily, a relative came to meet our family, and he had a card in his pocket of a friend who did tent services! We called them right away, they came to our house, along with the photo album, and everything was set!
The tent service people are:
Hina Party Decorators and Salad experts
I'll upload the picture I took of the card :-) It has all their numbers on it. Give em' a call.
You can also send me your email address via private message, and I'll be glad to show you the tent services they did! It was beautiful! And inexpensive compared to others!

EDIT: Man, I didn't make those stupid 25 posts so I can't post the pic of the card here I think :( And there are just too many numbers to type
Message me your email, and I'll gladly send you pics of the tent and of the card.

whats a average priced wedding lengha in pak?pref peshawar?

IM buying my wedding out fit in pakistan and for those who know can you tell me the average price in ruppees or convert them into pounds if possible..whats the lowest and the highest prices..and anywhere in peshawar..as thats where im buying,.

thanks

Re: whats a average priced wedding lengha in pak?pref peshawar?

tough question! mine was 62,000 rupees/1100 CAD, but some girls on GS have also paid a couple of lakhs for theirs. the best thing is to set a budget according to what you can afford and then try to find a lehenga within that price.

Re: whats a average priced wedding lengha in pak?pref peshawar?

Hi nadz :-)
It depends on where you get your dress really.
Usually people in my family get bridals from R-sheen in sadar. The most expensive one will be around 45,000 rupees I'd say. Nothing more expensive than that really.
There's also other boutiqus (I forgot the names!---I'll try to remember them or ask my family)---but their quality is the same as R-sheen and A LOT more expensive.

Then a cousin of mine got her's made from some designer in Peshawar. One was for 1 lak and the other for 2 lak or so. Problem is though that you will have to actually BE THERE or have someone else to visit every week or so to make sure it is being made according to your preferences etc.

I am personally getting mine made in Islamabad. Reason is because I really don't like R-sheen's designs or cloth. All the cloth there is exactly the same, and so is all the kaam. They have no variety for bridal's at all, even though they are relatively cheap compared to ISL or KHI.
I think the range in other cities outside of PWR really depends on where you get it from. A friend got a pretty Lehnga from Pindi for 45...while my lehnga is being copied for 85. I think a gorgeous lehnga if copied shouldn't be more than a lakh or so at the most.

Re: saloons in peshawar!!

Depilex is one of the best saloons in Peshawar. They are a lil expensive but they do a good job and have their own phtographer and studio so you can get the whole wedding portfolio done there too.

Re: saloons in peshawar!!

Wow..didnt think they had those kinda things in Pakhawar too!

Re: saloons in peshawar!!

lol, youre getting picked on here dezire! A "saloon" is a place that serves alcohol. A "salon" is a place that tends to beauty.

Re: saloons in peshawar!!

I can only recommend depilex because that's where I went for my walima dolling up but can't say if they are better or worse than rivals as I have never tried them.

Having said that, my husbands niece got married last month in peshawar and she look stunning so will ask her where she went.
