Re: wedding in faislabad
Hey yeah am getting married in FSD..I buy my ready made clothes frm Nexus in D ground..and Bebi Jaan not sure where that is..
The one thing I dont have experience with is my make up as usually do it myself!
But am going to get trials with sola singhar, depliex-but probs nt them as have heard they are stuck up), and Naina which I jus found out about frm this thread!
My sister got married in Dynasty it was lovely..not sure where im getn married either Serena Hotel, Chenab club, Usmania, or Dynasty not sure depends on their availability aswell I guess..The marquee thing sounds cool may go for that!
Im going shoppin around the UK aswell but will most likely get my dress made in Pak x
congrats rabia,
In terms of beauty parlour one of my sister in laws to be said who is from faislababd and got married there said that the best beauty parlour she went to was sola singhar and her make-up was good, so defo worth trying, i am going to get a trial and see if i like them, just shop around and see what you like best. i wanted to know what dynasty is like if your sis got married there, becuase my fiancee reckons serena is the best in terms of look, and dynasty is good for food better than serena, i am not that fussed, my brothers going out for longer than me, 2 weeks before even i turn up so they are gonna book the venue, either of the 2 once seen them, as in summer it is not season, as serena have said they wanted 3 weeks notice. Do you know what cheena club is like? Also lengha, as i will only have 2 weeks gonna get ready-made do you think d-ground would be best place? what about your sister where did she get her make-up done and her lengha from?
zeebs100
Just wanted to ask people for advice, with a lengha i saw on you-tube girls wear a bhai on the arm matching the lengha, what do you think of it? Also anyone know any good places to buy shoes in faislababd for women, as my sisters and mum are taking a lot of their shopping for the wedding from here becuase in the short space of time there will be very little time, will be more worried about getting me sorted with my wedding stuff. My sisters want to buy matching accessories from there for clothes, like jewelery, shoes, handbag as much cheaper than uk. any advice would be great.
thnx girls
zeebs100
I wrote a list of shoe shops in my earlier posting.
Hey, My sister had her make up done from Moon Beauty it was v gd aswell but it was quite traditional, Id prefer a natural look im going with sola singhar most defo cause my sis in law told me yesterday her in laws have "waqfiat" with them!
And my sis bought her dress frm here frm soho road in bham!..but we did all the accessories shoppin up there i think Bhowana bazaar for shoes..they have loads all colours all varietes..and in Anarkali they have eveyrthing banlges, sets, earrings etc i thinks its anarkali anyway.
Also im not sure either as there is a hotel nearer to where we live called Usmania so may go for that as my cousin got married there..but yeh everyone i speak to says the same serena better for the decor etc and dynasty better for food!..I will let you know whts happening as things progress!!

Re: wedding in faislabad
Here's a piece of advice if you're going to pakistan to get maried only. IF you're planning to stay there only a few days, I strongly suggest that you dont buy alot of matching stuff from there to bring back. Personally, I myself didnt like the purses and the shoes in Pakistan. But that was just according to my taste as a person living and wearing this stuff in the US. his of course doesnt include jewelry. Also, if you're gonna buy designer stuff from Pakistan, the price difference is very tiny.
If you're going to be back, just buy and leave most of your matching stuff back because of the luggage weight restrictions nowadays unless you're willing to pay extra.
I am talking from my experience in the last 2-3 mons.
As far as the decos are concerned, you can get whatever done from these phool walas/wedding decos wala that you'll find everywhere in Fsd/Pakistan. For my mehndi,we got this album where they had several pics of the stage decos etc and we chose one and requested some changes..
hey teeni-meeni
i will take your advice, basically i am only going to be in pakistan for a month maximum. I am a secondary school chemistry teacher here in uk and summer is my only real holidays i have to get married. I am not planning to buy lots of matching things, am just gonna buy outfits really as there is the luggage issue. Anyhow just wandering where did you buy your wedding lengha from in faislabad? i have many ideas of places to go so should be okay, but thats the first thing i am gonna do when i arrive in faislabad. i have an idea that i want a red lengha with a hint of gren and gold work on it, i would like it to be fishtail and then 360 degrees all the way round with a trail, thats what i am looking for - see what i can find. He will be wearing a white with red work/gold work sherwani inshallah. I will also have to buy my walima lengha as well with my sis in laws to be, because my fiancee wants me to wear a dark royal pink with annother contrsting colour. As this is finalised i have brought him his designer suit which i spent a lot of money on, and shirt with a pink tie that has 6 shades so we will complement each other. My aim is to have all ideas in head, go there within 2/3 days have brought lenghas after shopping around, then get a trial from parlours according to my lengha colour and book them. Also from then can start sort out my wedding clothes9bari0 and my mehndi suit which again will go out with in laws to choose - want to wear either a yellow/green sharar or, chuidar or patwala shalwar we will see, i might even look here in uk and take with me as bangles from here mathching we will see, am gonna go southall [uk] to shop around and see what i can find. My brothers wil sort other things inshallah so shouldnt eb a problem. I just want to do bit by bit as 6 months left and soo much to thin about, and i work so have to fit preperation into the short space of time i have as i know 6 months will fly! Anyhow have gone off the point a lot but thnx for all advice.
