Hi Guppies
Am needing your help yet again. Anyone know of a good makeup artist who can do Pakistani bridal hair, makeup and pinning in Orange County, California. I'm getting married in the Autumn/Fall season and need someone who is good and reliable.
Also searching for a good photographer and Zabeeya Halal Caterer in the same area.
Can anyone help?

A good makeup artist would Be Ziba beauty salon, they have tons of locations out here for south asian bridal Ziba Beauty
And a really good halal desi caterer Shalimar Gardens DELICIOUS desi food and really nice owners

They catered for a couple of my friends’ nikkahs and weddings, and they had the reception in their beautiful hall, the decor is gorgeous they have a jhula (swing) and a ricksha in the corner and its decked out in white drapes, chandeliers, and really beautiful authentic desi decor. So its good as a venue and for food. I think they can seat up to 300 guests =) and very reasonable prices. Hope this helps and congrats!

ziba is a rip off. you're gonna have to hunt down some ppl. i heard abt a pakistani lady in placentia who has a home made salon. she's pretty good.. her names fatima i think

Oh wow guys, thanks so much for these suggestions... The thing with Ziba is that their brides usually have under eye makeup cracking/dry looking and they are not very good with eye makeup on a whole... I wonder if anyone has heard of Couturebridalservices.com - a lady called Madeeha Kibriya runs it and seems to be interesting...
Meanwhile, all suggestions and ideas are welcome, thanks again!!

for photography, go with samsonpro.com without a doubt. he’s a pakistani photographer who has done TONS of desi weddings and is excellent! all my family and friends have used him and couldn’t be happier. he takes his time and is very accomodating. he used to do wedding videography/photography in karachi.
there’s another up and coming photographer who i think is samsonpro’s biggest competition- aacreation.com. a few friends have used him when samsonpro was already booked and his pictures are also very good.
for caterers- we had bismillah halal tandoori cater our wedding this past december and it was delicious!! other popular caterers include: al watan, ashiana and shahnawaz.
beauty salons- ziba truly is a rip off. they charge upwards of $1000 and its really not that great. i had contacted madeeha at couturebeauty as well, but her customer service skills suck. i contacted her many times to get rates and tried to make appts for a trial, but she never responded. stuck up. too bad for her.
there is a lady named farah in chino hills who does really good makeup, hair and setting as well and its reasonable ($300-400). her website is kind of outdated, but email her for pics, etc. www.myfairbride.com . you could also go for MAC makeup in the mall. if you find someone willing to listen to you and you take pictures of exactly what you want, you can get realllly good makeup done. thats what i ended up doing for my nikkah, wedding and valima and alhamdulillah looked great :):). everyone kept asking who did my makeup (thinking it was a desi person), but i went to the MAC counter! i just took great pictures i printed from the bridal section here as samples of how i wanted my makeup and she replicated it perfectly

Hi Nabz, thank you for all this information. I was looking at aacreation but since you mentioned samsonpro I will look into him as well. His website photo’s look great. Do you know if these caterers cater at any of the hotels in the OC region near NewPort Beach? A $1000 for hair and beauty, wow, so I’m definiately not going to go there! I’ll check out Farah and the MAC idea is awesome, will do some research for sure. Thank you soooo much!!

one of my friends bhabis just started up a business for makeup and styling in orange county. message me if you want the details. she's pretty good, but I dunno what exactly you're looking for for bridal makeup...it's not typical pakistani makeup or anything. I don't remember the website right now, but if you pm me i'll give it to you because I need to find it.
i went to my best friend's sister's wedding where aacreations did the photog and it was REALLY REALLY good.

A very good imam would be Dr. Ahmad Sakr. He is immensely knowledgeable, lighthearted/funny, popular among the young people and very famous as well. He's so nice that he does the nikkah for those who ask. If you google him you can find his contact info.
