i spent $3500 on my baraat outfit. Its almost the double of my original wedding dress budget but both me and my hubby fell in love with the outfit which is absolutely gorgeous! I don't know if i will ever come out of the guilt of spending so much amount on it but i will definitely use the lehngha more than once now lol thanks to the long shirts! and perhaps i will try to cut cost on the valima dress to average down the entire amount spent on the 2 bridals so i dont feel so bad in the end.

I got married last year and i bought my barat outfit for 90,000 rupees was a copy of karma design from fkg in pindi! My walima outfit cost in laws 1 lakhs after haggling n even that was a copy of a designer!
I was going to buy my outfit frm uk and was looking to spend around 1500pounds but thank god i left it to pk and that was tye best decision i made theres Alot more variety in pk and more value fr money!

wedding dress will cost same as engegment dress???
i mean a name will make them feel diffrent? imagin from a nondesigner if u choose a dress & u say its for engagment or u say for barat it will make them feel diffrent to oferr price or giving discount?

^ true.. even 10K is a lot for it !! it's ok if it is an anarkali style something which you can wear with a lighter dupatta later as well but a lehnga/gharara is such a waste ! mine is going to edhi's soon..kisi kay tau kaam aaye ga !

i bought my walima outfit for 15k... online and it turned out alottt better than i expected. Its a heavy lehenga... i dont like the top too much.. but the top would b covered wth the dupatta anyways.

My parents spent about 45,000 for my engagement outfit, so they have estimated double for the wedding, inshallah. But alot of my cousins bought their wedding outfits for around 30-40,000, so that seems pretty reasonable.

My Shadi ka lehenga was bought in 2004. Me and my husband only (we had our Nikkah already a year ago) went to shop for it and spend only a few hours in the bazar of Pindi. I didn't want to take my cousins along as I do not like their choice and I was sure they would come in my way. Secondly, they are being very hostile to me as I rejected my cousin for my husband (out of family).
Well I had no idea about fashion on those days and so did my husband. I went to some shops in Moti bazar and well in the end I found a purple, magenda one, it was ready made, just had to sew it. We did not have much time as I was there and wedding was in 2 weeks. They quoted 12.000 Rs and my husband brought it down to 8.000 Rs. It was good for the occasion as only family was present at my shadi and half of them were kind of mad at me ... LOL :D so why spend money on things that I would use only once .. anyway I financed my whole wedding myself and before that I had just bought a new flat abroad and fully furnished it, (just my kitchen costed me 6 - 7 Lakhs at that time) and so all my saving went there.
I might take pics of it someday and post it here.

i think If u wil go to gulf they will charge more than 50k but I think u shud try tariq road and jabeens zardozi cuz thts wut I m lookin for. Dont want to spend too much.

no it doesnt matter if u tell them tht its for engagement or baraat. As per my knowledge it doesnt affect on discount and stuff

Farah my walima outfit was alot similar to this i got a copy done and it cost me in laws 1 lakh but i think mine was slightly heavier i got mine done from pindi
