I designed my own lengha i spent it 42000 rupees. it was made by home
based designer. I copy it from lajwanti. Everyone liked it and estimate that
it should be more than 80 its looked like original lajwanti. These

Prototype...my wedding lehnga was 25k too...from rizwaan moazzam...i have chosen the fabric and liked a style there and asked them to replicate it for me in my shade of red...

as for prices..my cousins just came back and got shaadi and valima outfits from Makkah ( tariq road) for
52, 000 each.

people spend so much, but is it really worth to pay lakhs for something youl wear Once or at most twice in your life?

hmmm shadi is really special and we become a dulhan only once but what i think is if we can save some money we should so that we could plan a good honeymoon

i guess these days we cant buy a bridal jora under 50k ..50k has become normal

yes farah u can find a very gud jora in range of 30-35 belv me…if u r frm pindi then u can go to KILLA near sarafa bazar…therz really gud quality and they wont charge u much,and for mehndi outfit 14-20 k is enuf :)…

hmm i guess you are right its not possible to get bridal dress in 25K but in opinion its too much to spend 80k for few hours , after that you never ever get a chance to wear that heavy outfit.

star4u ..mere khayal mai 30K for mehndi jora is too much ..ya i have no idea ..i think paki has become more expensive
and DD i’ll try to find some good jora btw 25-30k … in my opinion its not akalmandi to spend lakhooon for max 5hrs

ok so my sister got married in Nov 2009, I got her dress like one month before her wedding, it was ready made and was for Rs.60k and her Valima dress was for Rs. 26k and both were awsummmmm mashaAllah se!!
I had to search almost every area of karachi cuz I wanted her to look really prettyyyy. & I love her dress so muchhhhh, it has sarwoski crystals all over and I m sure any designer wod have crossed 1 lakh for the samething. Though her dresses were not VERY heavy but thats how she wanted them so it wod b easier for her to walk in them

always remember to BARGAIN!! U cant imagine they literally go 50% down!!

No, you shouldn't feel embarrassed...all you need to know is right people to shop with and right people to go to for shopping and of course the place for shopping. these designers rip these girls parents hard earned money and that about it.

and i would have agreed with that, had i not seen first hand the difference between a designer lehenga and a boutique bought one last summer. the nomi ansari outfit my sil bought for her shaadi was 2.5 lakh and a work of art. it is absolutely stunning. we paid 1.5 for her valima outfit from jabeen's and it is a lovely, lovely jora, but it is like comparing apples and oranges. when you buy designer, you really are paying for more than just the kaam and the material- you're paying for their expertise in doing what they know how to do best. so there is something to be said for paying that much for a designer, whether it be nomi at 2.5 lakh or bunto at 5.5 lakh...

btw is 30,000 rupees good for a mehndi jora for the bride, or is it too less or too much?

jabeen's is excellent, i agree. didn't see anything i liked in zardozi at that time so i can't say much. 30K is perfect for a mehendi jora for a bride.

say its your sisters mehndi, how much would you spend on a suit to wear on her mehndi

and how much would you spend on a suit to wear on her wedding day

i spent 16,000 on my churidar for my brother's mehendi, and 26,000 for the shaadi lehenga- both from jabeen's. i really wanted a farshi but it would have cost me around 35,000 and it just wasn't an amount i wanted to spend so i got the lehenga instead.

My friend's sister nikah lehnga was Rs. 15,000 from Jama Cloth Market, Karachi.Surprisingly it looked good and went with teh classy venue (Marriot Hotel) Her nikah was a month ago. This was ready made lehnga, she just had to get it stitched. But if you get work done then no way!
