Why do women complicate matters so much? Why a big fan fare around everything? A mutual understanding of intent (to marry) should be sufficient followed by a simple wedding.

Proposal = man asking a woman's favor.

actually, i think the whole idea of parents proposing is very sweet.. theres so much respect and deceny involved with it... and it also shows how serious one is and will be... its cute... and yeah, the whole on the knee thing is special too...

everyone has their own approach.. as long as the proposee and proposer are happy.. then who cares...

some things may seem cheesy to one.. but for someone else its a very very special moment...

I have never understood the need for proposing. I mean come’on… if two people know each other well enough to be married, why there has to be this milestone of proposing?. Hey, two people who are ready to get married should be able to convey all this in their sleep. Why get on the knees?. Well you may get on the knees but not for proposing.

I think its just stupid western custom…I totally agree it really doesn’t make sense making all the fuss about proposing
