Sounds like a very lame Walima. My bro just got married over the weekend and the whole function was fun. :) People were dancing before dinner & then a lot of people started dancing after dinner. I normally wouldn't dance at a mixed function, but my husband, my brother and the bride's sister's grabbed me and made me do bhangra..it was a lot of fun. I did get a few odd stares from my mom who is very conservative...sooo i just stood in opposite direction and had a blast...hehe
Weddings have to be fun, and bride/groom have to take part in it, esp on walima. Not just be bored to death on the stage. Even if people dont believe in dancing, the couple can walk around greeting the guests which is always nice to chill with ur friends as well

^ Well, to each their own right? if someone wants to have a conservative wedding that's their right. and i totally understand that most families want to do a wedding THEIR way.... As long as the couple were OK wiht it, then it shdnt matter what guests think.
