If she is the woman you want to spend the rest of your life with or someone you have to see day in day out, tell her striaght. More than anything in the world, I would hate being lied to. Twisting the truth or your perception of someone is not really the best way to begin or maintain a relationship, even if it is only friendship. I don't think there really is such a thing as constructive criticism.
