POINT ONE: They are not so many concentrated in a single area. Karachi alone has almost DOUBLE the population of Pashtuns as the whole province of Punjab.

POINT TWO: Karachi gets severely low level of resources than what it requires for its huge population. This is in contrast to other cities in Punjab and elsewhere. Karachi’s resources are controlled by people in places like Larkana. These people consider Karachi a golden goose to fill their own pockets, and they never care about or own the problems of the city.
According to official estimates Karachi is shown to have at least 1/2 its actual population. This means half the amount of resources it actually needs.
This lack of resources create friction among different people in the city. And since it has people from all over the country, so it becomes ethnic issue very quickly.
If Karachi becomes a province (it’s not gonna happen) and able to spend larger amount of its money on its people then there would be less friction and less animosity among people no matter what nationality they are.

There are **LARGE NUMBER's **of Pashtuns in Lahore, Pindi, other Punjab Cities and also i other Urban Sindh locations.
There may be large numbers but not more as many living in a single area. As I said above in the post right above this one.

Urdu speakers overwhelmingly support MQM, and MQM is the worst enemy of Taliban extremists.
And you would be naive to think that shias and barelvis are not targeted by them.
Give me any reason why MQM would want to destabilize the very city they represent. It is stupid to think that MQM would have the policy to kill anyone, Pashtuns or others, and create chaos in the city.
It serves NO purpose of MQM.

This thread is dead on. Why not other cities? Because Karachi is a port city. It's not surprising to me that terrorist networks would be more interested in taking Karachi than Lahore or Islamabad. Islamabad is too guarded, and the terrorists have already tested the waters with Swat. Just the proximity of their occupation of Swat to Islamabad resulted in immediate national and international response. But Karachi is oft ignored in the country due to racial reasons more than anything else, and the fact that everyone takes it for granted, and the fact that the public of Karachi has not been vocal or angry enough to give rioters a boot.
The fact that it's a port city, has access to water, and has access to factories, wealth, and manpower is probably what terrorists are looking for. You'll have access to ships, to the navy, etc if you can take over Karachi.
I see Karachi becoming the next swat very soon. It's pretty sad that there are entire areas in Karachi already that are no go areas, where terrorists are the only ones allowed to enter, and somehow the world doesn't even know about this.
I've been watching CNN all day. No mention of what's going on in Karachi. Then people freak out and ask questions every time a terrorist does something - well look at what's going on in Pakistan, they're eating the country alive. Why is everyone surprised at the might these guys have??? The world is letting it happen.

You gotta understand the politics of Asif Ali Zardari, he is Feudal, he thinks like that, we acts like that, killing in Karachi would be the head-lines in the days when few important decisions against the govt. from Judiciary are coming up, The Govt. is trying to create a mayhem so that no body sees what they are doing, once things are done/ targets achieved, everything will go back to normal...
The most important thing for the govt of PPP is to save Monis Illahi ( another Azab-e-Ellahi) adn his looted wealth... for that they tried to transfer the FIA officer and his team but Judiciary re-instated them, now they are using the delaying tactics, because the Father of Azab-e-Ellahi ( the suspect killer of Benazir Bhutto and most favorite friend and Partner of Asif Ali Zardari) have threaten the govt by saying if Govt cannot save Azab-e-Illahi and his looted wealth, he'll leave the govt... and if that happens, the govt will loose the majority in the NA... hence they have killed over 100 people in Karachi and will continue to kill more...

*ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari ordered Sindh government on Friday to ensure people’s safety in violence-hit Karachi, DawnNews reported.

Zardari gave these orders while attending a high level meeting called upon to discuss the current chaotic law and order situation of Karachi, the largest city and economical hub of the country.
The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Federal Home Minister Rehman Malik, Agha Siraj Durrani and Nadir Magsi.
An ‘important report’ on Karachi was being presented by the interior minister during the meeting. Rehman Malik also told about locating important ‘hide-outs’ of terrorists and said actions were being taken against the same.
President Zardari directed the chief minister to ensure protection of precious human lives in Karachi, and ensured him of every possible help from the federal government in this regard.
After the orders were issued, 37 more got killed in single day, earlier avg number of people killed in a day was 12... good going zardari, he just tripled it...

THere is no evidence whatsoever that ANP is involved in this leaflet. Now get any jihadi activity going on in Karachi and blame it on ANP or any pashtun crime on ANP. No one is going to buy it.

**The MQM has a violent facist policy of hate and discrimination. It's short life span has seen it attack all of Pakistan's ethnicities but the hatred for Pashtuns is different because they are hard working people who are the 2nd largest ethnicitiy in Karachi. The MQM Htred has pushed Pashtuns to support the ANP.

This party hates everybody with equal intensity. Be it Pashtuns, Punjabis, Sindhis, Baloch and muhajirs that dont approve of them. The intensity of tehir violence against others depends upon who they beleive is a threat to their mafiaso activities. Tomorrow if it is Sindhis they will start killing them.

The last census of Pakistan was in 1998, and a lot has changed during 2001-2011, the current census is important and the results could be quite interesting.

Another lie, no party has taken a harder stance against Taliban than ANP and second to it comes PPP. Both these parties have been targetted by TAliban, the very same parties against whom MQM is fighting. MQM is aiding Taliban by elimintaing workers of ANP and PPP like TAliban have done.
**The City District Government Karachi (CDGK) was allocated Rs54 billion in the 2010-11 budget.
The total amount spent was Rs53.9 billion with Rs84.4 million of the total left over.

And this does not include the FDF (Federal Development Fund) which financed most of the fly overs in Karachi to make Mustafa Kamal look like a hero in Musharraf era. I am not against spending money on Karachi's infra structure... but just to keep the record straight..!!!
For the last few days MQM has been trying very hard to control the violence that ANP is igniting. Last week a huge massacre planned by ANP's followers was about to take place, thankfully it was controlled. These tribal monsters also tried to preach to their followers in Pashto that urdu speakers are of the jew race and need to exterminated at all costs, this sparked the deaths of many innocents a few days after this video came out. ANP's main goal right now is to somehow make Karachi a city like Kabul, ANP already promised that numerous times. After the situation becomes unstoppable Army will come in kill innocents, cause chaos in Karachi and Karachi would be divided into smaller divisions. Some divisions like the poorest and crime infested ones filled with TTP and AQ members will be in ANP's control.
Do you follow international politics? Kabul is much more secure nd peaceful than Karachi. It would be a blessing if ANP made Karachi like Kabul.
