Versailles Banquet Hall for wedding- what do you think?

Hey guys,

so my parents have booked versailles convention centre in mississauga for the wedding. they’re asking for 40 bucks a head for their gold package. Does that sound reasonable? anyone have any experience with versailles? I’ve heard bombay palace is supposed to be good , from their website it looks like they’d give more for the same price. any opinions?

One of our family friends' daughter recently got her mehndi/or shadi done there. I couldn't go since we had my inlaws visiting but my family went and my sister was all raves about it. But obviously it all also depends on how you decorate and present it for your occassion. Most of the banquet halls obviously charge more for their gold packages. Is $40 per head within your budget? And how many guests are you taking to the wedding? I had my wedding at Payal and they were charging $30 for their gold but since we had around 400 guests, they brought it down to the early 20s or so. If you like Versailles then go for it and try negotiating for the menu price if you've a larger number of guests. Good luck!

well my parents booked for 170 ppl for which i was really surprised coz i think we'll barely be able to get 100 ppl and 170 is wayyy overshooting. so with that amount of ppl 40 bucks is way out of our budget but i'm going to try and ask them to decrease the number but i think they were worried they wouldn't get the room with fewer ppl.

i thought Versailles palace in France…hehe wops:blush:

hahah only in my dreams.

Re: Versailles Banquet Hall for wedding- what do you think?

I went their for a wedding last year.. venue was nice.. food was good.

Re: Versailles Banquet Hall for wedding- what do you think?

that is a really good price.. here you can average about a 100 per person.

Re: Versailles Banquet Hall for wedding- what do you think?

100 a person? Ouch!

Re: Versailles Banquet Hall for wedding- what do you think?

^yeah :bummer: it could be a bit less too depending on different options but mainly where i live, it adds upto that much with hotel, food and all.

Re: Versailles Banquet Hall for wedding- what do you think?

^ Hotel.. does that mean lodging?

SanaMK.. i just looked at some pictures of Versailles, and given its location, setting and aesthetics etc i guess 40 seems reasonable (although a bit on the high side).

Have you looked at Maple Banquet? They serve halal food and their gold plan is at $28 something.

I've never been, but I've seen pictures as well and it seems like a really nice hall. I've been to Bombay Palace for a few weddings, and it's a nice hall too....the food was good as well. Do let us know how your experience turns out. Have you chosen your hall for your mehndi?

Re: Versailles Banquet Hall for wedding- what do you think?

Well in my experience a $100 per head mostly falls in place if you're sticking with a banquet hall that primarily caters to white weddings. Sanamk, you should try looking around. There are a lot of banquet halls in the GTA to choose from and I'm sure you'll find something that will be within your budget. If you find a hall that isn't so pretty but you're getting a good deal on it, then maybe you can save on the money and give it to the decorator instead, or invest in buying decorations and floral arrangements yourself.

100 bucks??? i didn't even know they could charge that much, i wanted to do maple but my in laws are doing the valima there. my parents went out and checked a bunch of places like payal; which they said was kinda cheap looking, same with fuzion, red rose was nice but lke 60 bucks so really no better, and they liked bombay palace but said it was just a class below. so i think maybe versailles might be the way to go... unless neone has any other suggestions

and me and you i'm not having a mehndi so theres no need for the hall.

No, the ballroom at a hotel like Marriott, Hilton or Hyatt. Where I live, there are a few banquet halls but nothing so nice (like you guys have in Canada) where I would want to have my wedding. I prefer a hotel setting more but that costs alot here, averaging at about 90-150 per person.

wouldn’t that be awesome

Re: Versailles Banquet Hall for wedding- what do you think?

Try Mandarin. $20 for all the food you could ever want. Take 100 people and you'll practically have the whole hall.

Re: Versailles Banquet Hall for wedding- what do you think?

It's a really nice place. I have been to a few weddings there. The food was good and it looked great. go for it.

Re: Versailles Banquet Hall for wedding- what do you think?

Mandarin is great too :D

Re: Versailles Banquet Hall for wedding- what do you think?

SanaMK look into Haveli restaurant. It is a restaurant but they do specialize in doing shadi / valima events. Their food is reasonably good but the best thing i like about them is their interior decor. It is very authentic pakistani, like a fusion of cultures from all across pakistan. If you haven't been inside it before, it is definitely worth a look. Theyre in the Rockwood Plaza, north-east corner of Dixie and Burnhamthorpe.

Re: Versailles Banquet Hall for wedding- what do you think?

what about sagan, woodbine, chandani and candle banquet halls.

woodbine and sagan are very popular in desis.... the food is ok
but chandani banquet hall have great pakistani food..... so ask them out.....
