Maulvis are a broad category. You have guys ranging from Fazlur Rehman to Qazi Hussain Ahmed to Tahirul Qadri. All belong to different baskets. IK’s opposition to drone strikes has always been incorrectly construed as ‘support’ for the taliban, which is unfair, because IK, and PTI have consistently clarified that point. But then again, that is politics. All opponents need is one strand of thread in order to try and unravel the whole dress.
As for PTI and JI, I personally dont like JI, and wont vote for them even if PTI wasnt in the picture, but fact remains that financially they are not corrupt, and they have a more democratic chain of command than most of our non-religious political parties.
