Re: Unfortunate rishta stories.
Hmm I have a few bad rishtaa stories (mostly family related)
1) dad got married cos his dad ran off (left my dad with 2 younger siblings) so dad had get married so they wouldn't go to care (in this country) that didn't work out. (She wanted him to dump the kids - his younger bro and sis and move out with her)
2) dad got married again - to my mum - (she already loved someone else and lets just say it didn't go well)
3) Dad got married again... the marriage lasted a whole of a month - cos basically he got his sister married in same house (to a guy who was already married... no one knew....)
4) Dad is now happily married......
Who said 3rd times a charm? They got it wrong!
seriously? ![]()

Re: Unfortunate rishta stories.
Very depressing topic.
Re: Unfortunate rishta stories.
yup it is bad to hear all these stories
Re: Unfortunate rishta stories.
Ok so here's something funny that happened a few months ago.
My mom was told abt this guy from an aunty. His mom kept changing his age from mid 30s to late 30s to 40. Im in my 20s. So anyway, he has a great job, works at a good company etc etc. He also UK national etc
Before he and his mom came over to our place, I Googled his name and was able to find his CV ;)
Anyway, he and his mom come over. I get asked the usual questions ie what am i doing, what i like doing etc. She also asks if Ive made anything thats being served and I told her no aunty, been bzy with work.
Later, after I have left, my khala, who was also in the drawing room comes and says that aunty wants my pic. And i was like wat? Khala has aunty's old cell phone and is trying to tk a pic but it wont come out nice coz the phones so old. Khala takes the phone bk and then aunty says that she wants a video of me.
Throughout this time, the guy's sis is txtng on aunty's cell abt what i look like and suggesting questions etc. So here I am in the drawing room with the Aunty holding her realllly old cell ph in my face and taking my video. Im told to look up and smile etc.
I thought this whole incidence was sooooo funny. On the other hand the guy doesnt speak with me or look or whatever. Aunty then calls later and says she wants to meet again coz her son didnt get a look at me.
Told my mom to refuse coz i was rite there infront of him and he didnt get a look at me. Plus the whole video thing was way too freaky.

Why are people so fobby? He's a UK national, it's not like he just jumped out from Gujranwala or something.
Re: Unfortunate rishta stories.
^ honestly there is one simple thread running through most of these stories. He probably has a girlfriend or likes someone else. Why don't girls get that the reason if a guy isn't taking interest in you it is because they are into someone else? geez

i love this thread!
Re: Unfortunate rishta stories.
A cousin of mine got a proposal. The guy’s family kept visiting my friends place and they almost finalised the proposal, with the guy not even visiting once. The guy’s mom kept saying that my son is so sharmeela and shy that he won’t see and meet the girl. She even said that the guy was so shy that his dulhan will need to turn his ghoonghat on the wedding night
. As per the desi customs, the girl’s family did not want to take the girl to the guy’s place. The girl’s family had doubts about the guy although they met the guy at his place, he was nice and all (he seemed quite normal). But it was shocking that the guy was not willing to visit the girl’s place and not willing to meet her. The girl’s family did not proceed the proposal because of strange behaviour of the guy.
Re: Unfortunate rishta stories.
no wonder there are so many paki dramas based on stories like this.. really sad
i used to get so mad and ask my parents why they always make countries outside of pak seem like this.. but it is a reality i guess..
and something that is happening occassionaly in Aus too... so sad
I think its a bit unfair to make that judgement about foregin countries. I guess good and bad people live everywhere. And with the few stories we here - it's not encompassing for the whole population? if that makes.. ?
Re: Unfortunate rishta stories.
She was the only sister of 4 brothers, and the apple of her fathers eye, very pretty and very smart, confident, bubbly etc etc, started to do some work as an air hostess, got a rishta and had the engagement to end all engagements. Very loved up, the engagement broke off, no one really knows the reason why, but some say her family found out he was involved with someone else, and also had a child (again rumours only).
Well this beautiful talented young girl fell into the deepest depression possible, travelling round the world went out of the window, she suffered massive acne bouts that left her home bound and started suffering from all sorts of ailments.
anyhows this went on for a few years, until the depression started to lift she finally summoned enough courage to go back to Uni and start again, however the depression kept dipping in and out of her life.
She met a guy through Uni and was loved up again, introduced him to her parents, all was going well, until he dropped the bombshell to say he was going to marry her best friend.
Again she fell down the ladder of depression, resorting to drink and possibly drugs to help her through the day, all of this was being watched by her heartbroken parents and brothers.
Her father died, and slowly she started to pick her life up again, she has married now and has a child but have heard very little about her since then.
Re: Unfortunate rishta stories.
lol…there used to be a dram called “Kumkum” on star plus…Either the drama was inspired from this story or vice versa ![]()
Re: Unfortunate rishta stories.
Ok here goes my story:
My cousin got a proposal of guy who is living in Dubai. The guy was still in Dubai when his family (Mother, younger brother and younger sister) came to see my cousin although My aunty insisted that they should visit with their son when he is in Pakistan. Sister was very talkative and excited for her elder brother marriage and she told my cousin that "her brother visits Pakistan on every weekend". Anyways they liked my cousin and gave green signal. My aunty starts waiting for their son to visit them. Days went on and on but they didn't come (although they mention that guy visit Pakistan on every weekend). Mother used to call my aunt to tell her that she is waiting for her son to visit Pakistan. One day mother came with her sister (guys Khala) to show the girl to her sister. Again my aunt insisted them "ap beshak das bar ayen most welcome but larky k any per" but mother insisted to meet. Anyways out of courtesy my aunt accept again and invite them. After this visit mother told my aunt that her sister likes her daughter as well. Again my aunt start waiting for her son to come but he never. During this time my cousin got another good proposal and my aunt took decision to move on and accepted this new proposal and my cousin got married with this new guy and live happily ever after.
After few months we came to know that guy was interested in some other girl in fact he was deeply in love with that and that's why he wasn't coming to Pakistan to visit my cousins family. His family was against his love marriage guy did court marriage.
Re: Unfortunate rishta stories.
^what a cool guy:)))
Re: Unfortunate rishta stories.
^ yeah
what we further hear that his younger brother did the same thing got married in court because mother was against his love marriage as well (kuch log kabhi nahin sudharty :p)
We know this much because these people uses to live near cousin house and actually she refer the rishta to my another cousin.
