Looll when my sis got married, she got married back in Pakistan (this is about 10 years ago now) and they displayed all the gifts given to her by her in laws on the wedding day. At some point in the day they decided to show everything she was given, from hankies and undies to her gold sets, just to emphasise just how THOUGHTFUL they were.
to this day when we see the wedding video and how all the aunties are picking it up to display proudly to the guests it still makes us all crack up

I am sepcifically discussing a scenario where couple is not married yet:

Dont you need to know the exact measurement of your partner to gift her the undergarments? How do you communicate that to your SO?

no u dont need to.... just bring her to an expensive lingerie place and pay the bill...
.... or if you want a total surprise surprise... then give her the gift alongwith the gift receipt ... she will take care of the rest... :-)
