Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

Can someone please tell me what happens in the end, so I don't have to sit through this super slow drama? :p

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

sorry smilestar it is not based on a novel so we can only guess ;-)

but much like most of Umera Ahmed's stories, it has the "mukafaat-e-amal" angle to it too.

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

a big OMG... today's episode was a major one. I just couldn't believe it. All this time I was thinking they put ilzaam on Ayesha. I can't wait for next week's when Moiz will find out wht ayesha is doing and Aleena finding out Moiz is married.

Re: Umera Ahmed’s “Qaid e Tanhai”

 now thats a twist i wasn’t expecting! now all that built up drama leading to this makes sense, we are made to feel sorry for poor ayesha all along and then bam! talk about a climax! cannot wait for next week

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

i think ayesha and moiz's friend are just playing along so that miz comes back. and her mother in law will make a big deal out of it and blow it out of proportion.
lets not forget madiha is married to the guy in present day.

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

lets see the objectivity now...who is fair enough to criticize ayesha??

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

You mean madiha is married to Jawad?? I don't think so.

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

I was equally as shocked, can't believe it! But I'm sure there's more to the story......

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

Madiha is not married to Jawad, I think Ayesha and Jawad are planning this because Jawad wants to get rid of Madiha and Ayesha want Moiz back so they make this lame plan to create drama to bring Moiz back to Pakistan but in the end their plan backfired and Moiz never came back and in anger he married that girl. Just my opinion. And since Ayesha's plan was not successful so she took the blame, there is nothing more she can do.She love Moiz thats why she served everyone for 14 years.

Re: Umera Ahmed’s “Qaid e Tanhai”

The preview for the next episode shows otherwise.

Moiz did wrong in neglecting her, but what Aisha and Jawad are doing is worse. It will be interesting to see why Aisha ended up becoming a slave for her in-laws though, because why did she just not get divorce and marry Jawad.

I think this drama shows how the pakistani culture and society have changed. Back in the days, the men could leave for a foreign country for work, and stay there for years, without the women complaining much, but nowadays they do. Also, they do not tolerate their husbands courting other women overseas.

I’m born and raised in Europe, so this is only an assumption, but when I was in Pakistan last time, I met a few elderly women whos husband had left for UK/US, then neglected their wife and kids back home, and started new families overseas. These women just had to put up with it, but this drama shows that the society and culture in Pakistan is changing, and women have become more independent (for better and worse I guess).

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

Umera ahmad is the top writer of pakistan today's episode proved it.I loved this drama from the very 1st episode although people criticized it alot, some even said it was exactly like meri zaat zarra e benishan, now this is an answer for them.Umera can't be monotonic.U r the best umera love u:).I wish u read this and get to know how much i love u and how much i appreciate ur writing.U r the only writer who reveals every aspect of our society sooooo well and always do it sooo differently and excellently.
TWO thumbs up to the whole team for today's episode Especially Faisal Qureshi,Sawera nadeem and Saba hameed.

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

I really don't think its any kind of plan btw ayesha and jawad. I think its really happening and I think they really do want to get married. Did they know the MIL was listening on the phone hence chose to talk about it so she over hears the plan which would create drama? I could be wrong. Lets see what happens.

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

I think we had an inkling that Aisha did something bad but weren't quite sure if it was really bad or just a tad bit on the bad side :)
I think the issue that has been brought up in the drama by Umera is VERY BOLD and some people might be put off by it but it is an important one to face. Why do men think that they can leave their wives and children for 5, 10 years and visit them or call them every now and then just to make up for the fact that they are still their husband and father to their kids? Is a husband or a wife, only needed for 2-3 weeks per year or in some cases for a month every 3-4 years? Money makes us do some very odd things.

I wish a Mehreen Jabbar would have directed this because the issue itself would have been dealt with in a more impactful way. With Baber's direction, it will probably get diluted to a saas-bahu type fight (let's see).

the core issue in itself is HIGHLY debate-able and I LOVE that about Umera Ahmed's writings :) She makes you think otherwise and question yourself. We aren't so shocked these days when we hear that a married man is interested in another woman but for most of us (including myself) a married woman befriending someone else doesn't sit well at all. Also love the fact that everyone is equally to blame. All the characters have gray shades and we cannot single one out and say "he/she's the good one so let's sympathize with them".

Too bad it has taken 16 episodes to get to the core issue. That's my biggest complaint with the drama. Wish the episodes were more crisply edited.

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

Haven't followed this drama since the 4th episode but now i am curious. Is Ayesha having an affair with someone? and if she is, then it's not really that unrealistic. She is lonely and being abused by her in laws. Maybe that's her way of escaping from her miserable life. anyways spoilers please?

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

Watched episode 16. I completely hold the husband responsible for what happened. When he left for the UK, he made the conscious decision to leave his wife who loved him very much and chose money over his relationship with her. He was a mature adult who knew what he was getting into and he shouldn't blame her for their relationship ending since HE was the one who CHOSE to move thousands of miles away from her.

Swera was miserable and lonely and I actually commend her for not having an extra marital affair with the other guy and in fact deciding to marry him. Seeing how things turn out, he'll probably betray her ( pressure from family etc), but the point is I completely empathize with her and don't think she did anything wrong.

It's good to see that the mother in law is at least beginning to acknowledge that she and her daughters were at fault for destroying the marriage and driving swera towards another man.
I honestly think that folks who blame swera for the demise of her relationship are heartless!!

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

i'm not surprised.

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

I am so looking forward to the next episode just want to see how it all unfolds now! very interesting and I'm glad its unique, not your usual being able to guess the next episode type of deal. My only complaint is I wish it would move a little faster.

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

Finally the story got somewhere! Now I hope they don't drag the drama.

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

where is this heading =\ there is no way ayesha's behavior can be justified....(though i see her point of view)

Re: Umera Ahmed's "Qaid e Tanhai"

very nice episode. i'm in love with sawera's acting. such a heart warming story.
