humayun saeed and samia on nks today, promoting the upcoming drama, starting 28th nov in pakistan at 8pm. sounds gooooooooooood, solid storyline. some pics i took off my tv, of the 2 of them, samia is such a sweet simple girl, she didn’t have a stitch of makeup on and looked really pretty.

^ lol, she could not even get the name of the drama right when she announced it, till humayun corrected her and then she discussed the ‘itna mushkil’ title name for 20 mins 
i had it recorded on my dvr so i fwd’ed her bongay q’s and just listenend to humayun and samia talk about the play. apparently umera ahmed picked samia for the role herself along with the director, humayun (being the producer) admitted he had his reservations regarding her since he was unfamiliar with her work. i admire that about him, despite being a producer he trusted the writer/director choice rather than choosing his usual heroines to work with. yaaay, there’s hope for others.

i am feeling really bad criticizing umera ahmed's play because i love her novels. and this one is one of my fav., but the first episode was OVER dramatized and i am feeling like babr javed has ruined another one of umera ahmed's novel.
the novel was pretty straight fwd without any mushiness but the first episode was stuffed with emotions and everything seems OVER (sorry i can't think of better words for what i want to say) but it's just a first episode and i hope it gets better.
oh gosh I saw it on vidpk DB and I was so embarrassed!!! Being a woman, when another woman acts so STUPID it really puts a dent in what people think about women in general. I don’t think Nadia will ever realize how badly she comes across on tv making such “blonde” comments. It again showed how she does no research on any of her guests or topics and just enjoys her happy to you segment, her gossipy chats, and making fun of her phone callers.
I loved how Samia was just so straight forward when she said I am a farmer, I have no idea what you guys are talking about, and I don’t even own a tv or wtach it that much - Nadia was so surprised since she comes from the stardust magazine reading world.

well keep in mind that Umera wrote the script for this as well. And I believe this one is fairly close to her heart.
But I do agree with you that it was a little over the top as far as emotions. On the other hand, the novel is quite emotional. I don't think there were any light moments in the drama except for the Haider+Saba's daughter interactions :)
I do remember crying my eyes out when reading it (dang those emotions! ;))
Now I just hope they don't turn it into a 15 epi serial - yuck!

Just because you're good novelist doesn't mean you have the ability to write engaging screenplays. I wonder how could Umera Ahmed jump straight from writing novels to writing tv serials? As far as I know most of the fiction writers like ashfaq ahmed, amjad islam amjad, haseena moin etc first attended a training academy and started with long plays.
Secondly, how can she write three four serial at the same time and do justice to every one of them?

you are so right, sometimes when nadia khan is speaking i got embarrass on her behalf kay doesn't she realize how cheap she is being.
umera ahmed's novel are very close to my heart and i felt really irritated when nadia was commenting on them just like how she comments on meera reema's pathtetic movies. i am sure she hasn't read any of them. how could she? she couldn't even get the name right.

you are right, but we have realize that the director is one of the most commercial director these days, and umera ahmed's novel are anything BUT commercial stuff so the combination doesn't work too well.
i always feel very annoyed when they make tv dramas out of any of my fav. novel. they just can't do justice to them.
