I'm not sure about this quote from you. Are Pakistani's "extremely religious" ? - I'd personally say; Pakistani's are more on the spiritual side, than religious side.
Depends how you define as religious? I would say more pakistanis are in fact obsessed by money and deep down isnde actually would rather be white and western. Religion plays little role in the life of the average Pakistani. In some areas such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa you will see more people pray Namaz and keep beards in line with Islam yet when it comes to womens rights, local traditions dominate over Islamic tradition. In Pakistan and in Islam women have rights but local tradition and culture presides so what woul you say that if a person prays 5 times per day, fasts every Ramadhan, gives charity regularly but then does not give women the rights they are given in Islam, is that person religious?

It is surprising that in this forum, any semblance of a "personal attack" can result in a ban or infractions. But call a whole set of peoples' orientation disgustinig, the cheering squad gets right behind the statement.

pakistan is 98% muslim and muslims find homosexuality disgusting just as we find any other abuse or insult against islamic way of life and culture disgusting.

CM, as has been pointed out before, there is this arcane law in the books defining sodomy as such - gay + bestiality. Nowadays, it is the right wing nuts who equate the two, just as the nuts in desiland who do the same. Hope it is clear now.

Oh I am just pointing out that before our desi's did this comparison. The US government did it like 50 years ago. So its not something new you learned just on GS.

^ I agree that this was done 50 years ago in the US. Most folks in the US now have moved past such hateful comparisons. It is indeed sad that a good portion of desis still engage in such narrow minded, dishonest and evil analogies. ^ how sure are you about most folks? Whites behave VERY differently while amongst themselves than when there are non-whites including Asians amongst them. Ofcourse not all of them but many of them.

you have been found out man, if shariah law is setup in pakistan and you caught having illegal relationship with a man then punishment will be given out.
Pakistan is 98% muslim and overwhelmingly the people want islamic laws, yes there are some homosexuals in pakistan there are also criminals and murders should we tolerate them also, no so under islam there are laws against certain illegal acts.

A few months back, the United States embassy in Pakistan also held a function on its premises to promote gay and lesbian rights in the Muslim conservative country and it met the same criticism from religious clerics that was being expected.
After a few days of the event when it became public, clerics along with hundreds of seminaries’ students came out on Islamabad’s streets and protested against the US for organizing the ‘illegal and immoral’ event. They alleged the United States was promoting immorality in Pakistan and wants to destroy young generation through patronage of such shameful acts. If you look at the original article it will give you indication of what going on one foreign nation United States imposing an idea hated by the masses in another Pakistan.
You do have individual cases of homosexuals in pakistan but on general level you don’t need a BA in social studies to know people will not accept this idea it goes against there beliefs.

Backtracking? Your English is weak, I understand. Your comprehension is obviously not what it would be if you were actually educated.
I will indulge you however. I said "how do you know it isnt fulfilling?" That isnt specifically referring to homosexual sex, I am also referring to emotional fulfillment, that two homosexual men or women in a relationship would have.
That you automatically assume I must be referring to "sex" is reflective of your state of mind. In your twisted and immature mind, "fulfillment" apparently means only sexual fulfillment. If thats the case, I feel sorry for anyone, male or female that is ever unfortunate enough to be in a relationship with you.
As far as my opinion on the issue, I think its perfectly fine. Im sure homosexuals remain in and yearn for such relations means they do feel fulfilled both emotionaly and sexually.

The majority, as YOU claim may be against Gay and Lesbian rights, but that does not mean they are right.
The majority supporting or opposing an issue does not determine whether its right or wrong.
Their are MANY examples in which the majority supported something that was wrong, and many examples where they opposed something that was right.
This topic is about the idea of homosexuality being promoted in a society which is muslim and this lead to obvious clash of ideas.
the criteria which people using is not majority or minority either, it is whatever allah(swt) and prophet(saw) requires of them the people will follow that, even if they in minority.
example if 98% of people decided kick out all non muslims out of country this is not allowed under islam which says you have to give non muslims security and protection and their rights.
