The United States President Barack Obama on Tuesday dropped another bombshell over Muslim countries by announcing that foreign aid to other countries would be stringed to promote gay rights in those countries. An official memorandum was also issued in this regard and all agencies working abroad are asked to take special care of the directives. Obama administration appears hell bent to protect L.G.B.T. rights abroad especially in third world countries.
**the United States embassy in Pakistan also held a function on its premises to promote gay and lesbian rights in the Muslim conservative country and it met the same criticism from religious clerics that was being expected.
After a few days of the event when it became public, clerics along with hundreds of seminaries’ students came out on Islamabad’s streets and protested against the US for organizing the ‘illegal and immoral’ event.** They alleged the United States was promoting immorality in Pakistan and wants to destroy young generation through patronage of such shameful acts. Generally, the event was rebuffed by the people though not at the government level.
It is expected the new initiative by the Obama administration would create a stir especially in Muslim countries including Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Muslim countries ban homosexuality and even capital punishment is awarded for the crime in many conservative Muslim countries. It is not an easy task to persuade the countries like Saudi Arabia to accept a thing which is deemed totally against their religion – Islam – and ethics. They do not understand what human rights are and what the responsibility to protect them is.
The fresh memorandum by Obama could be an outcome of the bill that was tabled in Parliament of the Uganda to outlaw homosexuality. Though, the bill was dropped owing to huge criticism and pressure from the international community but it is believed that gays and lesbians are not safe in many countries of the world including Pakistan, Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia.

Generally speaking, if someone wants to be a homo, I think its his/her personal lfie and personal matter and he/she should keep it so. But if they want that our Govt. legalize it so that they can do it openly, I am absolutely against that!

If it were for me, I would have legally banned any "aid" from the US!
I hope Imran Khan or some other nationalist comes to power and makes a law that forbids taking ANY "aid" from the Yankees!
We people of Pakistan request the US tax payers to put pressure on their govt to stop spending money in Pakistan, which is anyway used to build monstrous embassy and to pay some kick-backs to some corrupt mosquitoes in our country.
It is "hard earned" money of US Tax payers and should better be spent on their health care, schools etc...
