For democracy: Overwhelming percentage of European population of those countries who went to war didn't want to. See Italy, Spain and Hungary. Thos countires who supported their populations wishes (France germany) were reviled in the US.
For Human rights: See above, Gauntanomo
For world peace: The US is attempting to indefinetly rule the world by force, the doctrine of pre-emptive war has been mutated with wars carried with no threat of immiment attack.
A witness who told ABCNEWS he believed the military was covering up the extent of abuse at Iraq’s Abu Ghraib prison was today stripped of his security clearance and told he may face prosecution because his comments were “not in the national interest.”
Sgt. Samuel Provance said in addition to his revoked security clearance, he was transferred to a different platoon, and his record was officially “flagged,” meaning he cannot be promoted or given any awards or honors.
Provance said he was told he will face administrative action for failing to report what he knew at the time and for failing to take steps to stop the abuse.

Removal of Saddam along with proper post-war plans could defuse much of the hatred the Arab world has for the U.S. It was in the interest of the United States to remove Saddam as well as the Iraqis.

Is that really a valid explanation?? "I was for the war but not doing it like this" I mean, who would run the war? Bush. How well had he managed *anything prior to this war? Why did you expect things to go well, again?

Secretary of State Colin L. Powell. Unfortunately he was outnumbered.
This culture of taking souvenir snaps, i wonder if it's just limited to US and UK soldiers? Another aspect that needs to be considered is that following the defeat in Mogadishu Pentagon intervened via Hollywood to paint a more favourable picture of American troops with Blackhawk Down.
It's difficult to see how Bush could rescue the image of the grunts following this debacle though. And what would the film be called? Iraq Pants Down?
US Soldiers Accused Of Raping, Abusing Iraqi Women
The note claimed that US guards had been raping women detainees, who were, and are, in a small minority at Abu Ghraib. Several of the women were now pregnant, it added. The women had been forced to strip naked in front of men, it said. The note urged the Iraqi resistance to bomb the jail to spare the women further shame.
^This is enough to make you sick i can`t think of anything worse for a woman to have to go through than be raped, they even prefer death than face such sick humiliations from the american boys of a nation that claims it belives in freedom now whole world knows what freedom they belive in and its very vile and disgusting!
Bush and Co hiding video and pictures of these iraqi women made naked and humiliated by GI Joes it does`nt matter the whole muslim world now knows the true ugly face of American policies and even the non muslim world is embarrassed to be associated with the States even the so called number 1 friend britain is trying to backtrack out of this mess!
This sickness is now part and parcel of the US occupation regime in Iraq and elsewhere, and the surprising thing is we have not seen the full scale of it yet as not all pictures and videos have been released.
Sending a bunch of hick soldiers who are institutionally taught hatred of arabs to an arab country with open licence - what do you expect? It would be naive to think that abuse is going to be against male detainees only. Rape is a taboo in muslim countries so details are going to be sketchy at best.
common, its enogh. some europeans are beheaded just for nothing by iraqis, the other side also has wounds, but for some reasons known to these people they listen only one sided cries.
american mistake seems like a blunder. though, it is nothing what the saddam regime did to its own people and off course to kurds.

right, so saddam is now the industry standard? is that what america is trying to compare against and saying "oh we are much better than saddam". don't you wish they will get a better role model than saddam ??
Does the western media show the suffering on the other side? Eevery one worries about their own. Are you comparing what is happening in Iraq today to what Saddam did? Really, where is the moral high ground? 11, 000 dead since occupation. Does that number mean anything to you? Dont come back with where were you when Saddam was in power. This discussion goes back to the heart of the issue....We (as in USA) did not need to attack/occupy Iraq.
