Re: To whom it may concern...

You think I care if my views are not accepted? O bhai, reject to karo...Yahan to discussion par hi chhuri phair di...

And that too supposedly by someone with a world view...What kind of a world view means you block opposing viewpoints...

Well at least it's better this time...Last time he didn't like my view he banned me for 3 days...

Re: To whom it may concern...

I went through the thread... I read your post Lajjo... I read back what others wrote.. I looked in mine if I was wrong in deducing what you were trying to say....

I have always respected your views... I still do... we have always been in agreement to each other... - a brother to each other more to say... We even had argument about Rafa Yaden .. remember? even when I said Rafa Yaden is a sunnah and doing it is perfectly ok; however, I do not do it because I find better daleel in Hanafi fiqh not to do it (for it is quoted from the last part of the prophet's life) ... we discussed those NON-ISSUES in unwanted details and remained friend.... I do not agree with your take on Sufism for all you know is the extreme and ignorant case of Sufism... but I never had any hard feelings against you for the main core of our faith is still the same...

I disagreed with you on this thread and my reasoning was right in there... It was a bit insensitive (or arguably wrong) to compare Bin Laden with Isa (Jesus) ... Just like you can not compare anyone to the Prophet (SAW), and you can not attribute lies to any prophet, there is no way you can do that... be it a metaphorical comparision or literal....

Perhaps, you want yo revise your comparision and say the same thing in a different way???

Re: To whom it may concern…

:hehe:

Re: To whom it may concern…

Anwar, you know I would never compare a regular person with a Prophet of Allah :swt:…My comparison was based on the circumstances and the methodology used in the persecution of Hz. Isa :as:…How he was called names by the very people he came to save, how he was handed over to the enemy by the very ones he loved and came for…

I only drew a comparison to prove how history repeats itself…

Read through my post: Where did I compare Hz. Isa :as: to Osama Bin Laden?

Re: To whom it may concern…

Question in your title was an enforced idea for the comparison, or so I felt.

Re: To whom it may concern…

You are right…And I also clarified in my second post that the title was misleading as I had used wrong words…

But still, the thread didn’t merit closure…I had so many things more to say to many objections…

Oh well…

But keep in mind, when Hz. Isa :as: and Hz. Mahdi do arrive, they will work to promote Islam and as such they will also be labelled as terrorists…

The Dajjal will make it seem that his work is righteous and that of Hz. Isa :as: and Imam Mahdi is evil…Billions of Muslims themselves will become Dajjal’s disciples…

Re: To whom it may concern...

hmmm.. the contents are your point of view...

let's see:

If you ask for the title to be changed to something else, will it be re-opned for discussion? I do not know...

I understand many things that you are saying but the image of Bin Laden which is created in muslims' mind by the media is very negative.... We do not know what is the truth... but there are many things that I know....

  • The similar Taliban in Pakistan declare that Polio Vaccine is haraam... and it is on record... it's not just the media hype... it's from the horse's mouth I have heard

  • The similar Taliban do not come and condemn innocent killings. All my life, the Islam I learnt was that even in war, you fight against those who wage war against you...

  • The similar Taliban do not rebuttle the allegations put against them... I, for one, have supported Taliban as long as they were ruling Islamically... But I see little evidence of them coming out on media, despite being given chances, and defending themselves... More an more, I see them, I get a feeling that they are not willing to educate themselves to understand Islam in its true sense.... Islam was not about being stubborn and rigid and forcing what you understand of it.... For them, a person like me who is into sufism and tareeqat is a kaafir....

Bottom line, as much as I want Taliban to rule the land, I hate their rigid mentality and I seriously believe they need to learn Islam in totality... Jihaad is not the only Islam.... Islam is bigger than Jihaad.

Go ahead, ask mods to open your thread and change the title... I am sure we have freedom of speech on this site... well I hope...

Re: To whom it may concern...

AQ:

You have never been to Afghanistan...You don't know what they enforced or didn't...All you hear is what's on the media...

Keep in mind...The Germans turned on their neighbours who were Jews and who they had known for generations...These Jews were people who were **neighbours **of the same Germans who turned them in...They had known them all their lives...

If the power of hate propaganda can turn neighbours into enemies of each other, how much influence do you think the media would have upon people when it is propagated about a people thousands of miles away...

Think about it...

Re: To whom it may concern...

Neither have you:)

you also heard the other view from different sources...

I actually recall the statement of Javed Iqbal - son of Allama Iqbal - back in the late nineties after his visit to Kabul saying that if someone needs to see the real islam in this age, he should go see it in Afghanistan.. A big statement coming out of the mouth of a secular...

But my point was, why can't we see a rebuttle/justification from those who have media power and know what is right from wrong????

Re: To whom it may concern...

^^

What makes you think there haven't been rebuttals? Who controls the media?

Just because you can't see them doesn't mean they don't exist...

Re: To whom it may concern...

What are our duties to make sure, right things are heard?

Re: To whom it may concern...

Looks like a budding interesting discussion on media's spin... just that its at the wrong place (Feedback). You guys may want to continue this topic in a more appropriate place. Good to see that some topics just never get too old or stale here at Gupshup. :)

Re: To whom it may concern...

we were discussing why his thread was locked and what was wrong... if you follow the context, you will realize it is all about what was to be discussed in that LOCKED thread...

Re: To whom it may concern...

Oh, I am sure this thread started at just the right place. However, what you guys are discussing NOW is a good discussion topic in its own right.
